My husband and I stayed at the Grandview from 5/9/09-5/13/09. We weren't looking to stay on the Vegas strip this time so that is one of the reasons we were fine with choosing the Grandview. We stayed in the 'Daisy' building which is their newest building right now. I guess they are planning to put up 13 more buildings in the next several years. They have a new parking garage next to the Daisy building so we never had a problem with finding a spot to park when we'd come back late at night. Anyways, the room was really nice, very modern & clean. The only noise we could hear through the walls was when our neighbors used the jacuzzi tub. However they have a courtesy sign next to the tub asking not to use the tub before 8am and after 10pm. So other than than we didn't hear anything. It looked like the maids came around everyday as well. We had a nice view of the Southpoint Casino right across the street. We really liked the Southpoint Casino, it was pretty big, very nice, and had a 24 hour restaurant which was very convenient. Anyways, back to Grandview. I was a little worried about some of the previous posts I'd read on Tripadvisor regarding being hassled with their timeshare presentations. They asked us once when we got their and since they said they'd give us $100 and/or show tickets for going to their 2 hour presentation we signed up for it. The presentation started at 10am and we got out of their at 12pm. Then they gave us our $100 and we were on our way. So if you have a couple hours to spare then this is pretty harmless and you can get some good show tickets or cash. We also did the Tahiti Village timeshare presentation which was 3 hours, however we got 2 Cirque Du Soleil show tickets as well as 2 tickets to the Madam Tussauds celebrity wax museum. So all in all we spent 5 hours for 2 different presentations and saved around $300 so it was worth if for us since we were on a tight budget. We also visited the Green Valley Ranch and ate at the Original House of Pancakes their, in which the food was really good! My husband had the Irish Omelet which was fantastic! They bake their omelets instead of frying them. Anyways, the GVR was nice, I'd probably recommend checking it out at least once. We also drove down to the new 'M' casino. This place is immaculate inside! So modern and swanky, just very nice! I heard they have a fabulous buffet, but I we didn't eat their. They took our $80 bucks on the slots in less than a 1/2 hour so we split. We heard it was a billion dollar casino, in which my hubby and I chuckled a little over that when we stepped on the front grassy area and saw that it was astro-turf. Oh well. Another thing we were trying to find was a casino that had Spanish 21 blackjack tables. I must have called around to 20+ casino's and none of them had it anymore. The Excalibur had 1 table but didn't have the match the dealer side bet option which is basically the only reason my hubby and I love to play that game. Also, we rented our car through Savmor which their name used to be under ACE. They were the cheapest we found and they never had a line like all the other places we saw. So I'd recommend them. So all in all I would definitely recommend staying at the Grandview, but you will want to rent a car if you plan on going further than the South point casino. The Strip is only about a 5-10 minute drive from the Grandview.

We arrived May 1st and stayed until May 7th. We were is the Daisy Bldg 9th Fl. Yes there is a little bit of construction for the final Bldg. The old Bldgs are 12 stories tall. The new ones are 21 stories tall. There are 3 pools, a work out room. The garage opened when we were there. I had no problem finding a parking spot. It seems the people who complained are the ones who can't walk or are to lazy to walk 2 or 3 min to there room. (They must park in front of the bldg) Coming from NYC 2 or 3 blocks away is like parking in front of your apartment. There is plent y of handicap parking. The room was a 1 bedroom, larget enough for 4 people, waser & dryer, micro wave, etc all the conviences of home. We ate b'fast & lunch at the resort. Wal-mart is 5 min away on Silverado Blvd, easy to get to. We bought all our food there. The south point casino is right nexr door. about 2 miles up the road the new hotel "M" is open. The time share people did not bother us. The place is clean and new. You do need a car to go to the strip. We had a nice time and I don't have any complaints. I can see after a few months that the place can get worned down. The do have a Free tidy service for people staying 7days or more. Do visit the Valley of the Fire, about 1 hour from the place as well as the red rock canyon. 30 min away. I would go back. As always if you don't like what you get you can always change your room or ask for a freebie for something.

I stayed in the newer building. The room is very modern and all amenities. However, the strip is far. They have a free shuttle hourly starting at 10am – 11:30pm going to the strip that stops at Excalibur. And going back to the hotel from the Excalibur hourly from 10:30am -12:30am. It you have to list yourself on the shuttles in advance or else you might not get on it the whole days because they get filled up quick. It costs about $40 to get to the strip in taxi. It cost $8 per person to get there by shuttle from/to the airport. I would suggest to stay at the strip and save yourself time and money. It was a hassle to go back and forth from the strip to the hotel unless you rent a car. Southpoint hotel was next door and their buffet was ok but after two days it gets boring.

We went to Grandview for 4 nights in early May. The check in was a breeze. No timeshare harrassment. Room was clean. I agree walls are thin and can hear everything. I would stay there again with family. Not a Vegas party place. Cabs run $30 to get to Harrahs. The hotel next door has good food for reasonable prices.

I stayed at the Grandview from the 16th - 20th of April and booked through Hotels.com for £50 a night. We were put in the Jasmine building in room 502B. This stay was part of a 22 night tour and was our last 4 nights in Vegas (our third time here).

I booked the Grandview as it was something different from the usual Vegas hotel experience (having stayed previously at the Tropicana/ Ceasers/ Planet Hollywood and Signature), the rest of Vegas was very expensive for these nights and the fact that it had a full kitchen inc washer/ dryer was a big plus.

We were aware how far it was from the strip (10 - 15 mins drive in moderate traffic) and that you really need a car to stay here. This didn't bother us and the fact that you can cross a small road to get to SouthPoint in under 5 mins walk is a great plus. The parking was not. Now, I had read that the parking was an issue and thought i'll take the chance. If you park before about 8.30pm at night you won't have any issues - after this you've got about a 10 min walk back to your building. It doesn't sound like much (especially after some of the walks we've had from hotel car parks i.e. Planet Hollywood) but you would think that someone would have factored in the number of rooms + off strip location = most rooms will have 1 car and have appropriate number of spaces available. But sadly no and it is a major pain, especially at 2am when you've come back from a show and are tired.

Check in: We arrived 4 hours earlier than set check in time and were told we could have our room right away, the process overall was a bit lengthy but we were happy. We were then told we had to go to someone else to pick up our parking pass. Thankfully many people have mentioned previously this is where they pounce on you, trying to get you to go to the timeshare presentation. I politely declined this but the woman was very pushy and took a while to take the hint.

The room itself was immaculately clean and had a good number of plates/ dishes etc. The decor is a bit blah and the paintings on the walls pretty awful but overall we were quite happy with both the bed and living areas. Also, as I mentioned we were away for 22 days so having a washer/ dryer was a great benefit before we headed off to LA and probably what swung us to book this place.

So overall the bedroom/ kitchen and bathroom were very pleasant and we had no issues. The pool area was nice enough, pretty basic but clean with a nice view out to the new M Resort across the desert.

The main issue we had was the noise. First of all we noticed that we were at the back of the Jasmine building which faces onto a new building being constructed, but when we arrived there was little noise. At 6am the next morning (after being out until 2am) we woke up to beeping/ crashing and clanking - general LOUD construction noise. I was unimpressed. Then came the noise from above and to the sides of us. Someone coughed in the next room, it felt like they were in our room. The people above us were obviously having a game of musical chairs - as they moved them so much (on tile floors) that we could hear every little creak. Also, each room has a jacuzzi, with a sign stating not to use before 8am or after 10pm, evidently there are a lot of people out there who can't read, as the noise from the jacuzzi itself and the water running through the pipes was unbelievable.

We were glad only to be here for 4 nights and if the rest of Vegas hadn't been so expensive for the rest of our stay I think we would have moved. It's all just quite a shame as the complex isn't bad, it's very clean and the rooms are nice but it's been ruined due to the poor construction of the rooms and general layout.

Obviously I wouldn't recommend staying here and wouldn't go back.
