While we enjoyed the food here (go with the specials...the scallops and pork shoulder were outstanding) and certainly wouldn't hesitate about returning, our biggest complaint had to do with the menu itself. It is very cleverly written on a piece of brown butcher paper which is folded around your napkin. The menu/paper is folded into thirds and opens into a good size piece of paper. However, the font is small and very lightly printed. Given the dim lighting of the restaurant, either reading glasses or better light would have been helpful for those of us over thirty! Our waiter saw me trying to use the table candle for added light to read it and was able to supply either magnifying glasses or a reading light. I noticed I wasn't the only one with trouble reading the menu as other wait persons supplied customers with lights! Oh, really! It's a small thing but sort of a thumb to the nose at customer service! When four out of seven tables (which I observed in our vicinity) are struggling to read the menu itself, it's time to reexamine the artistic versus the practical!
