We recently ate at Spago-Las Vegas. The food was great. Atmosphere was not what I expected. The decor is beautiful but it is a very loud restaurant. I think it is due to it being two stories in the back restaurant. We were seated at a table for two in the main walkway and people kept bumping into my chair. I think they are trying to put too many tables in one place. I would return but would wait to get a table in the cafe section out in front. Like I said I did enjoy the food but couldn't wait to get out due to the overstimulating atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet meal this is not the place to go.

Some friends and I wanted to visit a nice restaurant while we were in Vegas and this is what several people recommended. The restaurant has a nice decor and atmosphere. The menu selection is slim (which I understand is how most nice restaurants are). If you don't like seafood, you were pretty much out of luck on this night. The food was good, but not great, and definitely not worth the price.

My wife and I ate here on Saturday March 5, 2005.

We came here to make a night of it.

We were seated by 9PM and were already offered the dessert menu at 9:25 PM.

We barely started our cocktails and they brought the appetizer.

I was still finishing my soup when they brought the main course.

The busboy was hovering the table waiting for us to finish our first course.

The food was OK but nothing special.

If you are in a hurry to go somewhere than this is the place to dine.

We were looking forward to a leisure dinner and did not appreciate being given the "bum's rush."

When we complained about the pace, the waiter told us that we should have told him that we were not in a hurry.

I've never heard that one before in my life.

Usually, you tell the waiter that you are in a hurry.

Bottom line, if you want a leisurely dinner in Las Vegas, don't go here.

Believe me, this was no fluke as I saw people at other tables coming and going even faster than us.

Really disappointed in what is touted as a high end restaurant - we seated promptly, then proceeded to wait a half an hour before someone came to take our appetizer order, and then only because we had to flag down an employee to play Hunt the Waiter. Bread selection in the meantime was average at best - cold sourdough, cran something bread, focaccia, and flatbread with regular cold butter.

App was tuna sashimi - absolutely delicious, but a small portion for $19, high end restaraunt or not. I had the scallops with mushroom duxelle and lobster tarragon sauce. The flavors and textures were unbalanced - everything a bit on the mushy side, and very salty. For $31, you'd expect better flavor.

Dessert was a chocolate melting cake sided with a dollop of espresso ice cream and three resberries. The cake was okay, and the ice cream tasted like plain vanilla.

The mediocre service and mediocre food made me glad for good company. I won't be back to Spagos - there are too many top notch restaurants in Vegas to spend that much money for little quality.

We ate at Spago the week of New Year's 2004. I am always more adventurous at trying new things at a Wolfgang Puck restaurant... typically the flavor combinations turn something I would typically shun into a new experience. This visit was not a disappointment. The food was spectacular, the service was excellent and they were very conscientious about getting us to our show on time. Would comment that while the schnitzel is very good, it is overpriced. Would highly recommend this restaurant and for people to try something they would not typically get otherwise.
