Dined on Monday, October 19.

My group of guys has been to Delmonico's three times now. The previous two were outstanding with great service and great food. This time was clearly a swing and a miss.

We had reservations for five folks and were 15 minutes early for our reservation. 50 minutes later I checked on our reservation and had to ask the manager for a comped round of drinks for which he did oblige.

Despite the reservation, we were seated in the "front room" which is the lesser of the two dining areas and has less excitement thean being near the kitchen.

Our server, Vincent, was trying but was obviously harried. It was a bad night and I am thiniking there was a big staffing problem. He barely had time to talk to us.

We like our wines and were amazed when neither a somellier nor an assistant sommelier was on duty that night. We were sent a waiter that had a decent knowledge of the selections.

When the steaks arrived, two of the five had to be sent back for being overcooked.

I know this sounds like a picky review but when you are dropping $50 a pop for the entree, you have high standards.

The manager did comp us a dessert sampler plate, which was a nice gesture. I was hoping for something a little more dramatic.

We've eaten here for lunch or dinner maybe a half dozen times and have always loved it. The atmosphere is relaxed with very helpful and attentive staff. The pork cut I had during my most recent visit was cooked so perfectly the meat practically dissolved in my mouth. The lobster bisque is decadent. I've had steaks and salmon that were excellent also. We make a point of eating here whenever we come to Vegas regardless of where we are staying. Yes, it's pricey but you can keep the cost down if you want. Lunch is more affordable but always delicious too. The price of two meals with one soup, two entrees and one bottle of good wine was just north of $200 before tip.

While pricey, Delmonico steakhouse was a great place for dinner. The fillet there was the best I've ever had, and the service was amazing. We had two servers and a maître d’ who did a wonderful job. The sides were ordered al a carte, but were big enough for two (maybe three) to share. The atmosphere was very classy.

I finally went to Delmonico's during my last trip to Las Vegas and it was great. My girlfriend and I were really taken care of by a professional wait staff. The decor was contemporary, yet comfortable and warm. This place is known for its steak, so I can't speak about any of the other items on the menu. The bone in rib steak is a MUST for steak aficionados--22 oz. of outstanding meat! My girlfriend ordered the beef medallions and it was amazing. The wine list is pretty large with a variety of price ranges. Overall, a great experience and probably the best steak I have had in recent memory. Emerill Lagasse has really put together a fine establishment in Las Vegas. Highly recommended.
