I was extremely nervous picking out a restaurant in Las Vegas. I settled on Delmonico's because its location on the Strip worked well with our evening plans. We could only get a 5pm reservation three months in advance.
We arrived at 5 pm seated immediately. They pull out our chairs to seat us and placed our napkins in our laps. Every member of the wait staff at our table was on top of our every need. My water was not completely full once for less than a minute.(It was hot in Las Vegas and I was so thirsty I was drinking a lot of water.) We opted for only water at first and when we were ready for wine we ordered the house red. The house red is not a "house red". It was wonderful, but at $14 dollars a glass it had better be. But no really it was a great wine. We ordered the special appetizer of crab stuffed shrimp with a sauce that was to die for, it is not on the regular menu. We used our second roll to wipe up the sauce because it was just that good. My husband has the bone in rib steak with the twice baked potato, I had the special a bone in rib eye with a peppercorn reduction and smashed potatoes. My husbands was great, but we both agreed mine was fabulous. The meat was perfect, the sauce was flavorful but not over the top and the potatoes wonderful. We had plenty of food and did not have room for dessert which I know was a real shame. The price of our dinner for 2 glasses house red, one steak and side dish and one steak special was $180.00 plus a $50 tip is a total of $230.00 for dinner. Is it worth it? Yes Yes Yes I am already trying to plan our next years wedding anniversary dinner there and we live in Washington State. Mark the head of our wait staff gave me his card and will make our reservations for us any time we need them.
