I wholeheartedly agree with all of the other reviewers that rated this show at the lowest rating level. If I could have rated it lower than "1", I would have. I have even read some of the older reviews from over 4 years ago and they refer to the same tired, immature jokes and routines from the show. What is apparent from the reviews is that this act has gotten previously canceled at several casinos and has been moving downhill in venues. Having been to the Harmon Theatre, I think this must be the last stop before he completely leaves Vegas altogether.

I think even Jonathan himself is tired of his jokes and act, since he gave about as unenthusiastic performance as one could give. It was so bad that I was embarrassed for the performers, especially Tanya, who portrayed the stereotypical "dumb blonde" assistant. She was horrible. I can truly tell you without exaggeration that you would expect to see the same level of performance (and probably a higher level of performance) in a high school act. You keep waiting to see some real magic and original humor, but don't hold your breath - it never comes! Nope, not ONE true magic trick (except one very transparent trick at the very end). The comedy was as predictable and juvenile as it gets.

WHAT A RIPOFF! If you get a poor product at a store, at least you usually have some recourse to return it. In this case, I feel completely cheated by this scam of an act. I am convinced that the only way Jonathan stays in business is that many naive people like myself see billboards, advertisements, and write-ups by promoters and believe the hype. Consider yourself lucky if you you read the reviews on this site before purchasing a ticket! Just don't do it!

I'm trying to figure out why there are so many negative reviews. I've been to Vegas twice and have seen The Amazing Johnathan both times. Eventhough I know all of the material, it is still downright hilarious. His type of humor is so different and the way he works in his 'magic' tricks is so entertaining. My jaw and abs hurt all night both times seeing him because I was laughing so hard the entire time.

My only issue is the Harmon Theater. I don't like the layout. We were on the floor and were staring at the back of people's heads the whole time. My girlfriend is short and couldn't see too well. The layout of the Congo Room at the Sahara, where he previously played, was better and more well-suited for shows but if you're a fan of his, you know why he had to move. His show is still great regardless of the seating layout and I will definitely consider seeing him again on my next visit to Vegas. I should try something different but he's just too funny to pass up.

I am still completely enraged that I wasted an hour of my life on this "show". If spending time with drunk high school boys who swear constantly and make jokes that aren't remotely funny sounds like your type of fun, you might like this. The VIP tickets were purchased by my boyfriends best friend, who wanted to 'treat' us to a lovely evening out. Too bad the champagne didn't taste much better than lighter fluid - passing out would have improved my evening greatly.

First 20 minutes were spent watching Jonathan's favorite movie clips, which was, sadly, the best part of the show. This ended right in the middle of a clip. ????? Then a camera scanned the audience, focused on an audience member, and put their face on a large screen with comments: knee-slappers like 'Alcoholic' or 'Slut Section'.

A warm-up act, I guess you can call it, came on stage first. He was an acrobat who threw glitter and had more tricks in 10 minutes than Jonathan did during his entire show. It truly goes downhill from there.

Jonathan came on stage to canned laughter and a the lighting man yelling planned comments. In the first 3 minutes, Jonathan chose an audience member to torture for the next HOUR. I've never felt sorrier for anyone in my life. The poor man looked as miserable as the rest of us felt. Jonathan might think he's risque by saying 'F***' after every word he uttered, but it was actually just sad. He would make a lame joke about killing baby chicks, but the groans in the audience were not because the joke was shocking - it was because the joke was sooooo bad. Nobody was laughing, everyone felt uncomfortable, but everyone stayed - probably to lend some support to the poor man drug on stage by Jonathan, or with the false hope that they could at least laugh ONCE. Nope. My boyfriend looked at me in the middle of the show and said 'This is painful'. It was. The silence became deafening.

Tanya was just as bad, appering on stage to do the unfunny dumb-blonde act in a squeaky voice. She would growl and headbutt the poor audience member on stage. Funny??

The staff at the Harmon Theater were polite and helpful.

Do not go to this show unless you have a very low I.Q., are drunk, or are under 18. Don't even go if you have free tickets. Stay at home and give your cat a couple of strings - you'll be more entertained and won't hate yourself afterward.

We live in Las Vegas so we know a good show when we see one, we also know a TERRIBLE one, which you don't come to expect living in this town.

6+ years ago we did see Amazing Jonathan "AJ" perform at the Golden Nugget. His opening comic was funny and AJ act was charged with energy. Also, himself and assistant (wife) were 50+ lbs lighter than today which may be a reason why they now just slough around the stage. An overall observation is they look and act now like severely worn out entertainers too lazy to find a new job, because it is easier to keep up what they are now doing, ripping you off! (BIG TIME).

Last night we purchased VIP tickets (a Very Idiotic Purchase, in hindsight) to take our friends from CA. With taxes and all it came to about $90 PER TICKET (trust me lose this gambling and you'll be much more entertained and less frustrated than seeing this show).

The show is at the Harmon Theater now for a few reasons which we discovered too late. It is NOT inside a casino (because none one them would all this act to ontinue on), and it's your first indication something may be wrong with this act. The Harmon is one step away from demolition and you don't want to visit the bathrooms at all unless you have had all your shots and don't mind using bathroom stalls with doors almost ripped off and no locking mechanism in place. I did happen to visit one half way through the show, which "still" turned out to be a welcome relief from the entertainment we were viewing.

Most of the show takes place with a guest from the audience (which you can bet is a friend of AJ's because anyone else would have left the stage before too long). Throughout this LONG and boring interval the guest does NOT have a mic on him and AJ does. So you get to hear “one side” only of a performance which goes on almost endlessly and for WAY too long. Add to that a number of "back to back" unprofessional and least of all entertaining tricks performed by AJ, and you will begin to feel the what this show is ALL about!

But the main reason for this review is AJ's overall performance does shame to Las Vegas and all the "real" acts in this town. I only wish all the other reviewers and myself could launch a petition to get this act (and all its billboards) removed from the town. In the 10 years we have lived here we have seen all the acts and most more than once. We can't express enough how much of a waste of time and money AMAZING JONATHAN was to us and our friends, and would be to you also!

To give you a better idea, this is the FIRST time we have ever written a review about ANY act in Las Vegas or elsewhere, but we felt so RIPPED OFF that we just had to something to warn others. Just think of us as the Ambassadors of Las Vegas trying to save its reputations by taking the time to write this "very" accurate review.

I could go on and on in this review about the incredibly terrible performance AJ gave form beginning to end and ALL the other issues we had with this act and location (mainly the act), but I have to be honest, we left a little before the end because it was REALLY too much to sit through unless you are into Masochism!

If we learned anything from this mistake it is to check out online reviews about a show "before" you purchase. In hindsight it would saved us time, money AND embarrassment (you can imagine what our friend must be thinking with us living in Las Vegas and picking THIS show!). It was also nice to see SO MANY of the reviews about AJ the same as ours (or worse) which only enforces our feelings of dismay.

In closing if you want to know from trendy, outgoing Las Vegans what shows are better in town to see than the AMAZING JONATHAN, this answer is quite simple. ALL OF THEM!

Was in Vegas and saw the so-called "amazing" Jonathon November 6th. After sitting and watching his "favorite movie clips" for about 30 minutes, I was thinking I paid money to see this? After waiting a good hour, ( Mr. Amazing was late for his show because he got pulled over by the police) he finally came on stage. Well, too bad he wasn't detained longer as I could have probably gotten my money back. Once he got there it wasn't any better, in other words it STUNK! No magic of any kind, felt sorry for the poor guy he got out of the audience and had stand there with him on the stage for practically the whole show, and the Tanya gal, whoa, lets just say Do Not Waste Your Money seeing this show, because it is the worst show I have ever seen in Vegas.
