I'd heard about the Summer of Cirque promotion through Ticketmaster and decided to get tickets. I've never been much of a Cirque fan but wanted to give it a try while we were in Las Vegas (since half the shows there are Cirque style shows).
We decided on Zumanity because we'd heard that this was the least "Cirque-like" of the Vegas shows. This turned out to be a good thing and a bad thing. The show was more traditional with acts split up by a narrative from the announcer. This might be more accessible from someone who isn't really into cirque style shows, but on the other hand this may feel like less of a complete experience than the other shows.
Seating is set up in a semicircle around a centre stage and our seats were on the far right side. Most of the action happens in this center section so no seats are bad, but we did miss a good view of a few things (including the live band that descends from the ceiling, some of the backdrops and a couple props which face forwards.
We went in knowing that this show was adult themed and indeed there is a lot of adult content. There are a good variety of themes and topics presented and a good dash of adult humor. The might not be the show for those who are more conservative or are easily offended, but really there's nothing here that is overly shocking or offensive.
The acts were varied with some more interesting than others. I appreciated the acrobatics more than the humorous. Most of the comedy seemed juvenile instead of adult. The actors make full use of the theater and are interactively in and around the audience.
My fiancé enjoyed the show, but I thought it started to drag on a bit in the second half - maybe I was expecting more. The show was worth the discounted price ($50) but I wouldn't spend the regular $100+ per ticket.
