We had a wonderful experience on our recent sunset dinner ride and cookout as did everyone in the group which included a couple from Holland and one from the UK. We were picked up on time from our hotel, the horses were well-cared for and well-trained. We had an exciting ride along a creek trail to a mesa where we watched the last of a spectacular sunset over the mountains. The campfire cook-out was in a secluded wash. Good steaks grilled to order. We then rode back to the ranch under the stars. Everyone was helpful and cheerful. I cannot understand some of the terrible reviews. This was a great Western experience.

as a family of complete novices i have to say we thourghly enjoyed ourselves we were picked up at the time stated and taken 45mins north of vegas to a place called hidden valley we had to wait a short while unil the horses were saddled we then went on a steady horse ride out in the wilderness for approx 1.5 hours we then returned to a small camp where we were given steak and chicken with jacket pot and salad at no point did we feel in danger also i admit some of the horses look a little tired but they had plenty of freash water and lots of green grass to eat which is pretty good considering your in the desert

We visited Sagebrush ranch in September of 2007. I use the word ranch lightly. There was no ranch, no anything! We were dumped in the middle of nowhere, just a barn and some starving horses. It was really pathetic. Nothing of what was advertised was there. We had 2 very near accidents on the highway, the guide continually complained about how overworked he was and how his boss was a cheap S.O.B. My friend and I took the tour and as it turned out there were 6 of us total for the entire tour. At no point did we ever feel completely safe. It was absolutely horrible. When I read the good reviews I can hardly believe we were at the same place. Maybe they have 2 different locations??
In closing Very Important... 1 year later, today to be exact. July 2008. Sagebrush ranch has decided to help itself to my credit card account. I have reported the fraud to my credit card company, they have credited my account and are investigating the merchant. I am not some snob lady who was heading horseback riding with some crazy expectations, this is not safe and not trustworthy. Do yourself a favor and go through your hotel. There is more than one horse back riding excursion in vegas

WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD AND BANK STATEMENTS: We last visited the Sagebrush Ranch almost a year ago (last September). I just discovered that I have been billed, almost a year later, for a cancelled ride at the Sagebrush Ranch last September !!!!!!!!! We received (after much teeth pulling and the intervention of my credit card - receive our reimbursement credit of $258.00 for the acknowledged cancellation per their cancellation policy of 24 hr notice (eventhough the owner Jacque said repeatedly, "just wait one more billing statement, the credit will appear next month" - which turned out to be 7 months later - and that was AFTER my credit card had to be involved. The cancellation of this second ride was made DURING our initial ride. It was unanimous - our riding party all agreed, NO MORE (please see review dated: October 31 2007 entitled: "Oye Caramba". CHECK THIS, it took almost 7 (SEVEN MONTHS) to get credit for the cancellation of that second horseback ride - to find out that they are attempting to CHARGE ME AGAIN for this cancelled $258.00 ride - almost a year later in July of 2008 !!!!!!!. My credit card company is investigating the Sagebrush Ranch using patrons credit card numbers as a form of COLLECTION to recoop losses. Last year when I finally received my credit for the cancelled second ride, I thought I had seen the end of Sagebrush Ranch - WATCH YOUR BANK STATEMENTS : they may attempt this erroneous charge stunt on YOU. I had to rate this a one dot or "terrible" because there weren't any negative ratings available.

I attended the "Dalton Gang Lunch Adventure" tour provided by Sagebrush Ranch. It was a miserable experience. The Sagebrush Ranch is a joke and the conditions that these poor horses must endure is downright disgusting. (Incidentally, I have already reported the place to both the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the Humane Society.)

When the tourist van came to pick us up at the hotel, it was packed to capacity (15 passenger van). An elderly couple was the last to board and was forced all the way to the back of the van, where they barely squeezed between two who were already in the back seat.

On the ride to the "ranch" (I use that term loosely), we had to listen to the driver [----] and moan on his cell phone for being overworked. The AC was not working in the van and we were crammed in there like sardines. When we arrived, there was no welcome, no instruction…
NOTHING. We were loaded onto each horse, enduring the swarming flies and horse feces all over the place. The crew was rude and admonished riders for not being able to control their horses--even though they provided NO INSTRUCTION. We rode for two hours in circles throughout this washed-out, muddy plain…no discussions of the Indians, Spaniards and other information discussed in the advertisement.

Oh, and the “Cowboy Feast” that was supposed to feature hamburgers, ribs, chicken, potato salad, baked beans and apple pie? It was comprised of a tiny grille with rib pieces, dry hot dogs, burnt hamburgers and ONE half-consumed container of potato salad. No baked beans. No apple pie. It was horrible and pathetic.

I am amazed by the positive reviews that a handful of people have written here. If they found this place impressive, then they must have really, REALLY low standards.

This outfit needs to be shutdown and the horses need to be resuced from this hell hole that they are trapped in. When I left, I felt dirty and disgusted for having been "yet one more sucker" who was duped into supporting this place. I hope that justice is done and this place is soon shut down.
