My partner and I thought it would be very fun to spend the last two nights of my Birthday get away in Las Vegas at "the only all gay male resort in Las Vegas" I think it was fun. We really liked the style in the room, although it really looked like something you would see on Design on a dime or one of those other do it your self home decorating shows. Although we both agreed the room it's self was much nicer then the Spa Suite we had at the Luxor the first few days (please keep in mind we were upgraded to a suite at the Blue Moon, so I have no idea what the normal room is like). We did enjoy the multiple channels of free porn. But what couple doesn't
The amenities were very interesting, almost like a bath house at times, there is a video "viewing" room, which had a large bowl of condoms, so I am assuming it is used as more then a viewing room. The steam room was rather large, and nice, the Hot Tub outside was quite nice, that is where we met most of the other couples and men staying at the place for the weekend. That was the highlight of the evening talking to a bunch of random people from all over the country. Although I did notice that most of the other men there were a bit older then myself and my partner, most of the other men were in their mid to later 30 and 40's.
All in all the experience was pretty OK, I think I would stay here again, as long as I have my car at least, which BTW we had this time. With out a car I would not recommend it, since it is about 10 mins from the strip and walking is out of the question as it is in a more industrial area. And a little hard to find I must add. As long as I can get a special price on a discount web site I would stay here again for sure

There are aleady some good and thorough recent reviews, so I'll try to keep it short. Blue Moon is not for everyone. It is no more than 2 *stars compared to other hotels. It still looks like a Travelodge, which it was before it became Blue Moon. It is not upgraded enough to warrant a higher rating. Astroturf, silk flowers and all-weather carpeting inside the rooms do not pass any luxury standard in my opinion. The mattresses are vinyl-covered, and they are made with two top sheets that slide around. The towels are old, dingy and not very soft. The re-enameled tub that you see so often in condo-conversions was chipping. The alarm clock was a puzzler, and without a manual good luck getting it to work.

One front desk clerk was friendly, but seemed to be in the video room more than he was behind the front desk. Another was always hidden in an office behind the front desk, and I would have to call out "hello" whenever I wanted some help. But when you got their attention, they were helpful.

This place seems strictly for the person that wants a playroom, with public areas on the first floor with varying degrees of activity. (Strangely, when I was there mid-week, I only saw 3 or 4 other people, even though I counted 32 cars in the parking lot!)

This Noisy Motel is bordering a highway and is some distance from the Vegas Strip.
Although the rooms were clean and comfortable they were by no means an indication of the rate charged.
The room rate is equal and higher than that of some of the hotels on the Strip.
Why it is called a resort i have no idea, perhaps a dark room with porno's playing and a steam room and jacuzzi bring a motel to resort status.
The Staff a sometimes friendly and sometimes not depending on your luck of the shift pattern.
The average cost of a cab to the strip from the Motel is aproximately $10 a time, not much but it can mount up.
Dont be tempted into purchasing the extras for your room, ie. flowers, chocolates and stocked starter fridge you will only be disappointed and they have clearly offered this service to make a minimum of 100% markup on whatever they place in your room or its simplyn an attempt to get rid of their excess vending stock.
If your drawn to the pictures of the pool area, please bare in mind the jacuzzi can fit a maximum of 5 people for a 45 bedroom Motel, and even in the Nevada its sometimes to cold to use the swimming pool unfortunately which makes for an overused jacuzzi.
The Breakfasts were fresh and substantial however unless your taking it back to your room to eat, understand that there are no tables to eat at except those outside weather permitting.

If your just looking for a hotel that allows you the comfort of being gay, dont bother booking the Blue Moon Resort - Las Vegas is gay friendly and you'd probably be much better of at one of the strip hotels were they wont try make an extra buck of you just because your gay.

Would i stay here again? Most definately not!

  • Liked — The breakfast was fresh
  • Disliked — The fact that it is not worth the money and your being charged it purely because its a gay venue

Good sized rooms well furnished, yes there is some road noise but most hotels here in Vegas seem to suffer some. Good Breakfast supplied. Pool excellent with steam room etc.

Would certainly use again

The pool area is the best feature of the hotel and is very nice. Rooms are just ok and we had bruises on our legs from hitting the wooden frames around the bed. We could only get scalding or ice cold water in the shower. Two weeks after we left we had a $200 charge on our credit card for damages to the room that we didn't do. We'll never stay there again.

  • Liked — The pool area
  • Disliked — Room, shower, getting charges $200 for damages we didn't do.
