My husband and I got married in the Little Church of the West on Friday September 5th 2008 at 5pm and it was fantastic …

The ceremony lasted 6 minutes, it was perfect. Firstly the check in-staff were very friendly and efficient. There was a real since of calm and that suited us very well and helped calm our nerves. The Minister was great. His voice was remarkably soothing and he was a very kind person and that made us feel very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend the Little Church of the West as a Las Vegas wedding venue.

Thank you to all in The Little Church of the West and making our day simple, tasteful and very very special!

False advertisement, unfriendly, doublebooked... Look elsewhere.

I was married on August 9, 2008 and I thank my lucky stars that I was in a great mood all day until arriving at the chapel to see about 6 wedding parties waiting outside, no parking anywhere near, and our guests had to wait outside (in 105 degree scorching sun) for 45 minutes after the time our wedding was supposed to begin.

They advertise that the bridal parties will be given a room to relax, change clothes, put on makeup, etc. Except the problem is they double booked the entire day and we were told the changing room was “under construction”. No it wasn’t, it was that they double booked the day and were not able to escort so many brides and parties in and out of these rooms so they just locked them up. Not very professional, especially since it is advertised on their website and is part of the package you pay for on your, supposedly, special day.

So picture me, having to change into my beautiful wedding gown by placing it onto the public bathroom floor before stepping into it (mostly naked) in the NON-air-conditioned public bathroom, nearly fainting due to the heat, stress and nervousness.

The girls who worked the counter were absolutely rude and completely un-sympathetic. We couldn’t get anyone to answer how long we and our wedding party were expected to wait. My maid of honor attempted to escort me into a side room to get away from the hustle and bustle of all the parties checking in (about 1 every 5 minutes) and one of the counter girls very rudely stated: “That is our private break room and you are not allowed into it!” So I stood in my dress, veil and frown in front of the only air conditioner I could find, right next to the check-in counter while the “break” room went unused the entire time. Wow.

I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere – or getting married on a weekday, the chapel is cute, the minister was nice and the photos turned out wonderfully – but intimate it was absolutely NOT. There was no where to take pictures with your family outside as you were surrounded by about 100 people waiting their turn. It was crazy, I can laugh at it now but it was so not what I had in mind.

We were married at the LCOW on August 20th 2008, we were just after something very simple, just the 2 of us. The chapel is tiny and very quaint. The service we received from the staff at the time of booking was ok. We got to the church early and as there was nothing else going on they asked if we would like to go on in early which was fine with us. The service was short & sweet, we did not realise how short until we got our DVD, intro about the church was 5 min 4 sec and our wedding was 4 min 2 sec, but this was not an issue for us, DVD quality was ok. The photo's we had taken by the LCOW photographer were pretty average, so we were glad to have hired our own photographer to take pics afterwards (Trent Black). Trent was fantastic and our photo's were fantastic, my husband hates having his photo taken and even he had fun, if your wanting great photo's definetly hire someone externaly and I can thoroughly recommend Trent. The grounds themselves are not really suitable for photo's I thought there was more carpark than grass. I think if your after something simple, with small numbers LCOW is definelty one of the better chapels.

If you have your wedding on a day that will seem busy, such as a Saturday in June (a common wedding choice), be prepared to be without amenities that are supposed to be included in your package. We were married on June 7th 2008. No limo service was being offered that day (which we found out a week before the wedding which really wasn't too big a deal for us), but the big issue was that the room that the bride to be would use to prepare for the wedding (in air conditioning) was also unavailable (because the wedding chapel couldn't accomodate all the brides that they overbooked). One of the people behind the counter told us "we can rebook you for tomorrow" Can you believe that? They chose to book a wedding every 15 minutes. It was not our fault. We complained until they opened the room for my bride. They claimed they were using it for administrative purposes. When they opened the room for my bride, there was nothing going on it the room at all. They were just concerned that they wouldn't be able to corral everyone in time to keep their 10 minute weddings running in and out.

As for the wedding, we actually wanted short and sweet, so we were happy with the length of the wedding. In and out. We just didn't like that they fought us on the use of an air conditioned room for my bride to prepare herself for the wedding.

The photographer was pretty cool & was patient if we blinked during the photos. Minister was nice as well.

Two of the three ladies in the office were very pleasant. Shame on the third female employee in the office for being rude for us asking for something for which we paid.

If you want to not be rushed in and out ... maybe consider a Tuesday night wedding in January :)

My husband and I were married at the Little Church of the West in April 2008 and it was absolutely wonderful. The ceremony only took 5 minutes but it didn't seem that way at all when it was happening. The minister (Paul) was so heartfelt when he spoke that we felt he knew us all of our lives. It was not rushed at all and was so very special to both of us. The whole experience actually surpassed any expectations we had of getting married in Vegas. The office staff was very nice to us also.

I was leary of the photos after reading some of the previous bad reviews but Melissa was our photographer and she took excellent pictures. Please note that in your wedding package, they specify how many pictures you get but by that they mean you can only pick out one shot. What they do is show them to you (about 16 were taken with package #1) and if you want more, you have to pay about an extra $80 and you can get all of them put onto a disk that you can take with you and then you have the rights to all of the photos to reproduce them. That is what we did. We were also able to email them out to all of our friends and family later that afternoon from my son's laptop so they could see them.

The other thing was that we did not order the DVD at the time of the wedding because many of the reviews said it was a waste of money, was poor quality or you couldn't hear the ceremony due to the outside noise. About 2 weeks after the ceremony, we realized we wanted it whether or not it was any good and we were so happy when it arrived. The picture quality was excellent and the sound was fine. I am so glad we got it.

I can't say enough good things about this church. It is small and very cute. If you get married there, you will not be disappointed.
