My wife and I took a vacation to Las Vegas last year. While there, we went to the Riviera Casino on the strip. We Placed a $50.00 bet on Keno. This bet would cover fifty seperate games of Keno and we did not have to be present to watch the games. We would have many days to come back and check to see if we had won any money. The next day I went in to check my ticket to see if my numbers had come up. After scanning my ticket, we were told we would have to speak to the supervisor over the game. We were excited because this usually means that you have won something significant.
The supervisor came out and told me that they had mistakenly put my bet on the wrong game. (There are several Games running at once) These games are named different colors. (The Red game, The green game, the Gold game for example.) When I placed my bet I didn't know one game from another but the ticket I received back signified that I was playing on the red game. According to the supervisor it took them several games to realize that they had placed my bet on the wrong game. So after several games they changed my bet to another game without my consent. Of Course I didn't win anything on the new game. My complaint is this, How can a casino change your bet after you leave the casino With a ticket that says you are playing on a certain game. I personally think they changed the ticket to avoid paying out a win on the other game. If they are allowed to do this, then what is stopping them from changing your sports bets to losing teams after the bet is placed, and you have been given your ticket signifying your original bet. There are signs up at the Riviera saying that you are responsible for making sure your bets are correct right after you receive them because if it is wrong and you accepted it you are bound by the marker they gave you, whether or not it is correct. How come the casino is not bound by the same rules. I called and complained to the head of the Keno games. This Gentleman told me that it is common practice for the Keno bets to be changed to another game by the casino after the better has placed his bet. This is done without the knowledge or consent of the better.
I know that I will never place another bet at this casino or at any other casino run by the same company. I would advise any other betters to take thier bets somewhere that won't change your bets to losing bets after you leave.
Gamblers beware the Riviera is not happy with having the odds in their favor they want to make it impossible to win.
