Unless you are a diehard fan, don't waste your money. As the earlier revews have said, Wayne's voice is gone. I thought surely he would apologize to the audience for being under the weather, but that never came. After reading these reviews, I realize this the norm. It sounds like he's hoarse. As for the "holdiay" part of the experience, there were a number of holiday favorites but the set decorations were unbelievably bad. If you could buy it at your neighborhood drug store, it was there; fake polyester show, bad red bows that no one considered fluffly, and small lit decorations that are available at Walmart. This is not what I paid $86 for. It was also amazing that Wayne and the pianist went off on a riff on the "War against Christmas" and how bad it was to say "Happy Holidays". Wayne should check his own publicity; it's the Wayne Newton HOLIDAY show! Don't go.

We saw Wayne at the Flamingo, got the tickets from the cheap ticket place in Fairmont Street, had a seat upstairs but were given a better seat when we arrived.

The venue needs a good refit, but Wayne and his band were very entertaining, it was a good vegas night out, the only other way we could have got to hear those tunes would have been to go to see legends.

Stop knocking Wayne, we knew very little about him, we saw him on National Lampoons Vegas Vacation and the Bond film that he was in.

He reminded me of an American version of Jim Davidsion, don't take it so seriously, it's fun, fun, fun, we had a great laugh.

And what a great band..they should have a show of their own !

Well Wayne came to Auatralia at last i thought, so paid for my Mum and sister to go with my wife and I. It was a shocker i couldn't belive he would perform like that with such a rap. Thank goodness for his back up singers and his instrument playing, or i would have walked out. This was in Perth. I had wanted to se him for so long and was gutted to see him perform like that. I thought it might just be that night with sore vocal chords, but have since read & spoke to many people saying the samething. Wayne i,m sorry but time to call it a day.

I have been waiting years to see Wayne Newton perform. Finally got my wish at the end of February 2006. I had read other reviews that said he couldn't sing anymore, but thought it was written by someone who perhaps wasn't a big fan. The show was terrible. I sat there thinking this has to get better, it only got worse. In the 50 minutes I stayed (couldn't take it anymore) he sang 4 songs, but didn't finish one of them, introduced his band 3 times, told about 10 minutes of Native Indian jokes, and had his back up singers perform solos. I finally left when his 2nd back up singer started to perform a solo. I paid to hear him perform, not his back up singers. I think it was a time filler because his voice was so bad. I almost think he was on something????!!!! One comment someone made was "he is 60 years old". So what, I saw Paul Anka recently (he is older) and he still has an amazing voice. It would have been better if Mr. Newton had been lip-synching rather than trying to sing with such a terrible voice. It would have been better to dream about seeing him than be as disappointed as I was. The other 2 in my party stayed about 15 minutes longer than I did. They said it just got worse not better. Wayne I think it is time to retire.

Go see Wayne Newton to see the last old school Vegas act performing, at one of the last of the old school Vegas hotels. Yeah, it's hokey, and no, Wayne can't sing like he could when he was 30. But he is still a heck of a performer and he loves the crowd and what he is doing. We bought the infamous "Golden Circle" tickets, sat right up front, and enjoyed pretty much every minute. Don't expect a Wayne Newton concert; it's more of a variety show, hosted by Wayne and featuring his band. All of his backup singers are given a featured song, as well as several of his backup musicians. They're all very talented, and you can tell it's a group that has fun at what they're doing. This probably isn't a show for people who come for only the Wynn era LV. There's no Cirque mystique, no Celine glamour. Just some music, some comedy, a showroom. Old school. (No one has ever told Wayne he needs to be politically correct either; no doubt which political party he supports, no shortage of Brokeback Mountain jokes; the only part that bugged me)
Now: the Golden ticket. You do get great seats, right up front. You also get a "meet and greet", which is just a hug/handshake and a photo. No autographs, no conversation, no personal photographs. After the show, you wait in a line, and one at a time, you get your picture taken with Wayne. (Who is a very nice man, btw.) The free picture is wallet sized, you pay $10 for a 5x7.
The real hassle is how hard they make it to actually pick up the darn pictures. You can come back that same night in between 11 and 11:30-but frankly, in Las Vegas I have other plans for my night than waiting for my Wayne picture. Or, you can come back the next night after 6pm, use a courtesty house phone to call the photo people, and wait for them to come out with the pictures for you. Pain in the butt. For the extra $$, they need to find a much better system. So be forwarned about that, if you choose to do the Golden Circle.
However, Wayne was one of the highlights of my trip, and I'll always be glad to say I saw Mr. Las Vegas.
