This hotel is amazing. I think it was an ultimate experience for some one visiting Las Vegas for the first time. I had 36 hours to spend here on a stop over after a business trip and I had booked the room by just contacting the hotel manager and explaning that it was my first trip to Las Vegas and that I was expecting something special. I shoot in the dark, but it worked, I'll explain later.
I arrived outside the hotel, amazed by the tall glass tower as is the new Palms hotel, there is also an older building, which I do not know if its a hotel complex or apartments. As soon as I stepped in to the lobby/casino, I was hit by the sound of slot machines and the amount of people, I will never forget that sound. It was a bit difficult to first located the check in desk and information, which I soon found out was just to the left, so it was not easy to see. The service was excellent and curtious. I received a lot of information, maps and free tickets to so many things, that I would need a week to go through them. I was booked on the 35th floor, which is a more special floor, like a club level, just the floor below all their suites and penthouses...or should I say playboy"houses" in this hotel (hint, hint). To that floor, there is a private elevator, that a security guard checks your room key.
The corridor outside the elevator was really beautiful, and I passed two playboy bunnies on the way to my room, they were on their way to the playboy club that exists in this hotel, the club was amazing, and only VIP, so they did not let in to many there. Black and red velvet everywhere and it was really good music, and beautiful people. Back to the room, It was really a cool room, huge and with a lot of cool features; Bose stereo, B&O Plasma, etc.. The beds were huge, even though I had asked for a queen. The bathroom was also very big, with a lot of space. The view from the window was ok, almost opposite of the other tower, and also facing the "wrong" way of the strip, but that did not matter, I was not there to stay inside.
I did not try the room service, but I went to the nightclubs, and the one on the room, don't remember the name now, and I could actually check their webpage, but I'm to lazy, was really cool. A SPECTACULAR view of Las Vegas with a glass balcony that were floating freely in the air, it also had a small part of glass floor, so you feelt like you were sky diving. The hotel also had a tatoo place, but I just peeked inside to see. Looked cool.
The casino was ok, since I compared to many of the other hotels I visited during these intense 36h., and I thought it was average. I did not like that it was right in the lobby area. The food court looked ok, I did not try it and there was also a movie complex inside the hotel. The restaurants looked good and also the food, but I did not eat in the hotel.
It was not season for sunbathing, since it was in december, but I have heard from friends, that the pool area is very nice and that it is a lot of young people staying at this hotel and that it is crazy partying there when its season or weekend. I have also read that there are a lot of celebs partying here.
The most expansive suite in the world is in this hotel; The playboy suite. Check out their webpage and you will underdstand why! ---
