The Palms hotel is located off the strip FYI. Not far at all but you will need to catch a cab or rent a car to make it there.

I stayed for 5 nights on business in a Jr Suite in the original tower. The bed was decent, they had Aveda toiletries, free shick shaver for men, rhoto eye drops, and toothpaste. Wifi internet in the room was $12.99 per 24hrs.

Elevators were fast and always working. In the evening you need to show your room card to the security guard at the elevator bank.

Little Buddha restaurant was good! nice atmosphere, good food, decent cocktails. But I prefer Tao Asian restaurant in the Venetian hotel over Little Buddha any day. Much better food, drinks, and ambiance. I highly recommend it.

The 24hr cafe downstairs at the Palm is great for breakfast (much better than the buffett on the casino floor).

The workout gym is good but costs $45 for a 3 day pass or $20 per day. Mens lockerroom has the steam room, dry sauna, cold and hot plunge pools, outdoor hot tub, showers, and lounge room with fresh fruit and snacks while you watch tv. Assorted drinks are provided as well. The gym is open 6am to 8pm. Free weights and nice cardio machines with TV are all available.

Parking is free at the Palms and they have a small food court with popular chains and a large theater complex.

If i were going back, I would stay at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay

I stayed at the Palms several years ago and was excited to stay there again after having a pleasant trip before. I was disappointed to arrive well past check in to discover our room still wasn't ready. Their idea of trying to compensate for our wait was offering us a smoking room rather than a non-smoking room which we requested. The staff at the check in desk were completely rude, unfriendly and not helpful. The bellman stared at us for several minutes before realizing we were standing there to check our bags while we waited for our room. No one was eager to help us get a cab or exit our cab like the other hotels we visited on our trip. Go to the Palms for the nightlife but not to stay.

Stayed here for our annual Thanksgiving Vegas trip. $59 for a Fantasy Tower room is a good value but, once outside of the room, the Palms' appeal falls off fast. I know the Maloofs are trying for a younger, hipper slice of Vegas with this joint, but they've completely chucked all the hallowed conventions of the Vegas experience. The nightclubs rule this place, followed by the concerts, with the gambling a distant third. The casino is a ghost town almost all of the time, and the poker room doesn't even offer tourneys. The room was great, with a very comfy bed and outstanding soundproofing. I tried the buffet only for breakfast - the food was good and the price was right ($7.99), but it didn't open until 8AM! This is a good place to sleep, but go elsewhere for a real Vegas experience.

Good hotel, but located off the strip so you need to get a taxi everywhere.

Famous for the H&H tatoo studio. Nice casino, food average. Hotel has a cinema attahced, which is nice when you have had enough gambling. Clubs are really good, and as a guest you get a pass past the line for the bar at the top of the tower. Great views of the strip from here, and probably with staying the night just for this!

What lets the hotel down are the rooms. The hotel is fairly new, but you could tell the furniture was already quite well worn. Also I specifically wanted a no smoking room, but you could the room have that stale smell of someone smoking in it. The rooms were not well cleaned, there was some trash from a previous occupant in one of the drawers.

All things considered only met expectation.

This was a vacation palnned for myself and 2 daughters who have never been to vegas before. I have stayed at quite a few of the other hotels and have always been very happy. The room was very small, not even a place to set up a lap top. The bathroom was not clean, the soap dish has soap scum, the toilet had urine dried on it, the coffee pot still had the last guests coffee packet in it. The room service food was not only way over priced it was tasteless. The buffet was horrable, we were starving but could not find one food item that made you want to go back for more. No wher e on the web site did it say the pool and hot tubs were closed until spring of 2008 we would have stayed at one that did have the pool open. We did make the best of the trip but would never stay at the Palms again
