I am a 10 handicapper and I actually liked the course. However, this is Las Vegas and the course is at the end of the tarmack at Mccarren Airport. This is not a setting for golf. There are planes taking off every few minutes. On number 7 I actually felt the green rumble between my feet, when a plane was taking off. The planes taking off is not an every now and then situation it is happening the entire time every few minutes. Leave this one for the unskilled traveler @ $200 pp

The course is well maintained and beautiful in places, however no course can withstand the experience of 747s taking off directly overhead at an elevation of under 500 feet. This occurred with a frequency of about every thirty seconds.

Secondly, the MGM/Mirage properties use this course for many of their high rollers. Consequently, you get foursomes of golfers who are EXTREMELY SLOW, but large enough gamblers that the staff would never think to hurry them along. The result, a 5+ hour round of aircraft and helicoptors directly overhead. At the conclusion of the round, I wanted nothing more than to lie alone in a quiet room.

As a result of the location, directly on the Strip, you are forced to pay $300 to play a course whose value is closer to $100, and actually zero since no one should be forced to play under those conditions. If you have the option, pay $1000 and play Shadow Creek twice.

This is by far one of the toughest and funnest courses to play. The price was considerably more than I had expected to pay and was unaware there was a course inserted caddie to help you. The caddie was good and knowledgable and provided good insight.

Just a short cab ride to the course ($10 from Bellaggio) and they offer new Callaway X-18 irons and big bertha fairway woods and the newest Callaway driver and Footjoy rental shoes. Everyone is helpful and courtious to you and treat you like you are a course member.

It was fun and I would definitely play there again.

When you don't have a lot of time or a rental car your choices are limited in Vegas.
Bali Hai is right on the strip but like another one of the other Walters Golf properties (Dessert Pines) they fit 18 holes in a fairly small piece of land. Before you go to Bali Hai have the taxi drop you off across the street at the Callaway Golf Center to warm up (if you like a real range). The range is included at the course but is only about 100 yard deep with a net and a few stalls. Yardage book is a good idea as stated in another review. I mostly wanted to check it out after watching the big break II on the golf channel which was partly filmed there. If you hit a shot off line beware of balls from other holes (which are close) flying into you. I had one whiz by my head on one hole.. And play the tips! It isn't that long..

I have played several times. At almost $300 it is easily the most over priced golf course in Las Vegas. You can play Revere - a far better course for only $160.
