i stayed there in march for 3 nights the rates were cheap. the room was good but far from the hotel entrance.location perfect right next to everything on the strip. i mean c'mon all u need is a place to sleep for like 3 or 4 hrs and a shower and the rest of the day ur out having fun. but next time i'll check in, in the flamingo bcs the rates are close and it is much better hotel and casino

We stayed at the IP for 5 nights, and definitely enjoyed the location - right in the middle of the strip. That is the only thing we enjoyed....
The staff was not all that helpful or friendly with check-in or anything else. They just didn't seem to care.
The layout for the rooms was AWFUL We stayed on one of the higher floors (maybe 7th?) and to get there was a chore. The elevators were so slow, that there was always a huge group of people waiting. So, when the elevators FINALLY got to us, there was almost a fight to get on. We had to wait, on average, 10 minutes every time we used the elevator. After you get your elevator ride to your floor, finding your room is the next challenge. The hallways are a big maze and very confusing.
The rooms are gross. Carpet is stained and dirty, paint is chipping off the walls, the bed is extremely uncomfortable, and it in general just looks really seedy. The bathroom was clean enough, but to take a shower was really to take a bath/shower as the water took forever to drain.
We went to the buffet for breakfast, and almost immediately decided to never go back - for any meal. The food tasted gross, even the water had a funny taste! The food was the worst I had in my entire 6 day stay, of all the places we tried on the strip.
The only other good thing I can say about this hotel (besides the location) is that the food we ordered to our room late one night was very good. The portions were extremely generous as well.

There are two nice thing about this hotel...1) the room, it was really big. 2) the location, we could get anywhere fast, the monorail was right behind the hotel. Other than that...not a dang thing good to say. We had to walk OUTSIDE to get to our room. The hotel was undergoing some remodeling we had to walk threw (that we were not informed about). The pop machine closest to our room did not work the entire 4 days we were there. The staff was rude, and very unhelpful. In the time we were there, we visited several casino/hotels on the strip and were treated very well. We will NEVER stay at the Imperal Palace AGAIN!

We booked this hotel for a girls weekend through hotwire. We just wanted to be centrally located on the strip.

We made fun of the hotel before got there, after reading the reviews on this website.

I can't say that this is the best place to stay. If you are looking for plush beds, quiet rooms, and excellent service, try somewhere else. If you want a centrally located hotel, no frills, just a place to lay your head after a long night of partying, stay here!

The only bad thing, is that we asked for a room with a view and we had to endure music until 4am each morning. It's crazy, it sounds like they are literally on our balcony. Lucky for us, we were up for a good time and never came back to our room before 4am. Just wasnt' pleasant when we were trying to nap during the afternoon.

Overall, this isn't the worst hotel.

“Old Imperial Palace”

Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino

Stayed at Imperial Palace on floor #3 in Feb.08. The hotel is very old and as you walk down the halls it smells like dirty feet. Price is reasonable, but that's all you get is a good price and great location in the center of the strip. The shower head had a ton of calcium on it and as you took a shower it would not drain so you took a bath/shower also when finished there was a film around the tub. Beware the toliets were not cleaned from previous guests!..
