I was a little apprehensive to book and plan a wedding from Canada. Thank goodness I chose Little Chapel of the Flowers for our June 15, 2009 wedding.
I had chosen a package with the "first look" service, basic flowers, and Victorian chapel, expedited paperwork, additional 15 minutes on the ground, hair and make up with photography package. The customer service was excellent and every time I called I got my questions answered. The day of the wedding, the hair and makeup person arrived at my hotel on time and did a beautiful job. I recommend this including the airbrush makeup. The limo driver showed up on time and the limo was clean and the driver professional.
I arrived on time and my guests were already seated in the chapel and my finance was prepped. This property used to be a service station and house converted into the chapels and grounds. The grounds were small but nice. It was sweltering that day but the chapels were airconditioned, very tastefully decorated and the reception was excellent with instructing us what to do. The photographer started taking pictures the moment my limo pulled up and he gave basic directions on how to behave for good photo including how to put the ring on each other hands to get the maximum view.
I met the minister who was very pleasant and he asked me a few questions to determine the type of service (we had wanted a Christian one). When I was ready to walk, my music played on cue and I walked down the aisle. The service went well and was not too short but long enough for the minister to make it more interesting and personal.
My dad's wife was upset that she couldn't take pictures during the ceremony. That honor is reserved for the photographer only so it is important to budget for pictures. Everything ran perfectly and after we came down the aisle, we were escorted back into a private room and the guests were escorted outside. My new husband and I had more pictures taken, this time posed inside the chapel.
Then we went outside for group shots and family shots. We were given some direction and could also choose our own. The photographer was very accomodating. Finally, we went into the studio for a few more on our own. The additional 15 minutes we bought allowed our own family to take their own pictures on the grounds until the limo picked us up.
We went back the following day to get our expedited license and review our photos. We ended up buyin the rights to the photos digitally for $600. Seems like a lot but I know from pricing out at home, this is a standard photography type cost.
Overall, we went cheap when it came to hosting only 20 family and friends instead of 200, but we didn't cheap out on a few of the "extras" at the chapel and are very happy as a result.
I seriously recommend this chapel for any apprensive brides.
