In between a west coast business trip, took a quick one day jolt to Paris LV.

The hotel – as you can imagine, it reeks of French ambiance – the Eiffel Tower in the front and the look of a French village throughout the shopping areas, restaurant and casino. Check-in was extremely fast (which is not common at the big Vegas resorts) and staff courteous. Everything was clean and elegant. The location is perfect … smack in the middle of the strip. Across from Bellagio and easy walking distance to most of the other strip properties.

The rooms – fairly large, very clean, nice marble bathroom with separate shower. Comfortable bed.

The casino – large and somewhat confusing. Band at one of the bars was decent; drinks were fairly expensive ($7 for a beer while the band was playing). Surprisingly there were $10 blackjack tables on this Tuesday evening. The nearby Westin has $5 tables all day.

The restaurants – grab a quick muffin & coffee at the bakery (which was expensive). Had lunch at Mon Ami Gabi which was fabulous. Service was great, food was high quality with nice portions and lunch sandwiches in this high class steakhouse ran under $15.

The Pool – didn’t use it but it looked fairly small and very ordinary. No comparison to the MGM, Golden Nugget or Mandalay Bay. But it looked like it was clean and was easy to find a chair.

Overall, a pleasant experience had a better than average LV resort. It is not quite to the levels of the Venetian … but falls into the next category.

Stayed at Paris July 1st thru July July 6th.
Found the Hotel staff to be very friendly, we arrived early for
check-in but the gentleman at the check-in found us a room
that we could have if we did not want to wait.
Rooms were very adequate, A/C worked well. The pool
and hot tubs were excellent. The bath had a shower
that was enclosed seperate from the bathtub.
The room had a safe located inside the closet.
The gaming area is laid out very nice and was considerably
more "quite" than some other casinos.
We would recommend Paris to friends. It is a Harrah's
property so all "Rewards Credits" can be used at Paris

Very nice Hotel, one of the best thematic hotels in Strip.
Rooms are confortable and clean. The only problem is that there were a lot of room service trays at the corridors and for days nobody pick them up.
The bedroom is clean, but the hotel should upgrade the bed linen.

We stayed at the Paris from July 3-9, 2007, check in at the airport made things easy and we were able to go straight to our room on arrival. My husband, 2 adult daughters and I stayed in room 1882, which had a great view of the pool, the Eiffel Tower, the Bellagio & its fountains, along with the Arch de Triomphe, and the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood. The room wasn't huge, but it was nicely appointed and clean. The housekeeping staff was very good, and the one night when it appeared that a group of kids were left unattended and reaking havoc in the next room, the front desk was quick about sending up security to quiet them.

My husband rented a cabana for my birthday and we spent the day by the pool. The cabana was wonderful. Not only did it provide shade, but it gave us a little privacy as well. Inside there was a table and chairs, a fridge stocked with water, soda, & juices, a phone, a tv, a sofa lounge & a ceiling fan. Outside there were 5 lounge chairs and misters to cool you. The cabana rental also included a lovely fruit basket and 2 free raft rentals. The cocktail waitress was very efficient and we had breakfast and lunch served in the cabana. Paris's pool may not be as fancy as some, but it's large and does a great job of cooling you off on a hot day. There seemed to be plenty of lounge chairs free too. It's definitely worth the cost of the rental, imo.

Paris has some excellent food options. The 24 hour cafe and the buffet are excellent. Le Burger Brasserie is their new sports bar where you can get decent food at reasonable prices. Napoleon's is a beautiful lounge where you can listen to dueling pianos and try one of the many champagnes they have to offer. Sadly, Mon Ami Gabi was a disappointment on this latest visit, but maybe they were just having an off day, since we've eaten there several times before and always enjoyed it.

It's a beautiful hotel and the location can't be beat.

“Great location--stay there once”

Paris Las Vegas

Jul 11, 2007

My family and I stayed at Paris Las Vegas July 2-6, 2007. We checked in at the airport when we arrived. I know it has been commented on before here, but it was at check-in that it was made clear how much the hotel values its "Diamond rewards club" members over the rest of us riff-raff. I asked to stay above the 25th floor in one of the renovated rooms and was told by the clerk flat out that those rooms were reserved for the Diamond members of the rewards program and she would do "the best she could". We were lucky enough to get 2 rooms on the same floor, but not connecting like we asked nor facing the strip as we asked. We weren't even offered an upgrade by the clerk. It seemed pretty obvious she wanted to get rid of us quickly. One of the rooms did turn out to be a room at the end of a corridor and had a partial view of Bellagio's fountains, but the other overlooked the back of the hotel property.

Here is a tip...if you get the hotel transfer to and from the airport by bus, make sure you call to arrange your pickup right after you get to your room. We didn't and we ended up paying for a transfer back to the airport that we never got (we ended up taking 2 taxis). You are probably better off doing the taxis anyway because the cost to and from the hotel isn't that more expensive if you have a group of 4 or more like we did. Also, be prepared to wait in line for the buses, which was mighty fun considering it was 110+ outside when we arrived.

We had rooms on the 20th floor. The hotel is showing its age...we saw many ceiling and crown molding cracks in the rooms and hallways. Our room had 2 queen beds with torn covers and stained sheets. The room was clean and smelled ok, but the linens definitely need to be updated. The bathrooms were the best part with nice soap, shampoo, etc and beautiful tile. The shower was separate and very roomy. The water is hard, so don't expect to get that desert sand feeling off you with foamy suds in the shower. The room service came daily and cleaned up nicely, but were lax about leaving new supplies especially even one extra roll of toilet paper. We had to go get paper from the carts on more than one occasion. The hotel charges $12.99/day for hi-speed internet access. They also charge up to $12.99 for hollywood movies. The tv channels are sparse and there were several outages and pixelated pictures on some channels. There are 1-2 spanish channels and something like 5-6 asian channels. No HBO or other movie channels. late night TV watching after a hard day of heat and gambling is definitely not enjoyable. Skip the honor bar too and go to one of the local convenience stores to stock up on snacks. $10 for a jar of freaking gummy bears????

The pool area is way small for such a large hotel. I do not recommend it at all.

The elevators are quick. The shops are few, but convenient along the side of the hotel near the elevators and along the way to Bally's. We ate at the Village Buffet twice and it was pretty good and varied. To get in the restaurant, we had to go early because the lines get really long later in the morning through the rest of the day. Register for the rewards program at the desk and they will give you coupons for $5 off the buffet. We ate at Provence (spelling?) which was an Italian restaurant and the service was slow and the food average. We ate at Mon Ami Gabi and cannot recommend it. The food was extremely slow to arrive (1 hr) and undercooked. The medium steaks arrived rare and my pork porterhouse was raw in the center.

The slots didn't seem at all loose. I won about $125 on the quarter machines and did much better over at Bally's. The wait for the Eiffel Tower view was hours long on the evening we tried to go up and we skipped it entirely.

**Be wary of the kiosk halfway down to Bally's from the elevators...there are 2 elderly ladies there and we thought they worked for the hotel. They offered us maps and free comps, but we finally figured them out when they wanted to take us in a bus to another property to look at rooms there. Turns out it was an attempted timeshare kidnapping. I was smart enough to turn it down or we could have wasted hours just to get a coupon for free food.

I cannot say enough how much I hate the diamond rewards holders who can skip in front of you at restaurants and all lines (check-in/check-out, etc). Hopefully, they have diamond reward lines in hell so they can go in ahead of me there too.

In spite of all I have knocked the hotel for, the hotel is in a perfect position at the center of the strip and is really lovely to look at on the outside and downstairs in the casino/shop area. I would recommend to stay there at least once just to do it, but I would go elsewhere for later visits.
