My girlfriend and I had a great stay at Paris from Dec. 16th - 20th. We read all of the negative reviews and we are glad to say that our trip was great. We were in a double room on the 7th floor originally but over the first day we realized that our door key wasn't working... by the 3rd new key they upgraded us up to a great corner room on the 12th floor overlooking the Bellagio fountains. We had no problems and found the staff to be great. We were prepared for a very smoky casino but the casino was fine.

We recommend KA at the MGM Grand. It was probably the best show I have ever seen. It is a Cirque show... but the only Cirque show that actually has a story as opposed to a theme. What a show!

My family and I stayed at Paris for 2 nights over the Christmas holiday. The hotel was completely packed, but we had great service and I really liked the room. Check-in was very easy, no long lines, and we were given a room on the 32nd floor with a nice view of the mountains. We got there at 9:00 am and were given a room. We were in one of the older rooms, but I thought it was very nice and didn't seem worn out. The bathrooms were very pretty, with pink marble tile and a shower and tub. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't hear any noise, but I'm not sure if they were doing construction during the holiday. The gym was not too impressive for the $25 fee to use it, but we got $10 off that fee from the hotel website. It had all the amenities a gym needs, but it was not like a fancy health club or luxury spa. It served the purpose, though. The casino is small, but I preferred it to the other huge ones. I would recommend the Bellagio buffet over Paris, but Le Notre bakery at Paris had wonderful French pastries for breakfast. Overall, we had a very good experience and I liked the theme, decor, and service at this hotel. Great location and the prices are pretty good if you book from their website.

I've read mixed reviews about this hotel and was nervous prior to our going out there because of the notes about construction, but we had no problems at all. We asked for a renovated room and were given one on the 25th floor- the only issue was that with late check in (about 11pm) there were no king beds left, so we had two queens, but they were willing to move us the next day if we wanted. There is construction going on - but I could hear it from outside, sounded like whistles and horns blowing. The walls are no more thin than any other hotel and the hotel respected our do not disturb sign in the morning. We ate at the cafe a couple of times and drank at the round bar with a great bartender Tony. He was awesome with our large group of friends who hung out there for a couple of hours before hitting the nightlife. We also hit the piano bar but it was really really smokey and most of us stood outside to avoid the smoke.

The spa was great - I had a massage and pedicure there and although it was expensive it was one of the better masssages I've had. Everything had 18 percent gratiuty tacked on though - a bit annoying.

We didn't eat at any of the nicer restauarants in the hotel -some of our group did eat at Tao which had fabulous sushi and also Red Square which was good - but had really snooty wait staff.

All in all a great trip,I had not stayed there before and was comparing it to the Bellagio and The Hotel at Mandalay Bay which are amazing hotels. But Paris is a nice hotel for the price and we had no problems with rude staff - everyone from check-in to the tables was great to us. I'd recommend staying - just ask for a renovated room and you'll avoid the construction.

“50th in Vegas”

Paris Las Vegas

Dec 19, 2006

We stayed at the Paris for my 50th birthday. Just like one of the other reviews says, I was rather alarmed at the bad reviews it had been recieving over the last months. I actually arrived with printouts of the costs of other hotels figuring we would change if it turned out as bad as it was sounding.

Boy were we surprised. It was wonderful. We did end up paying the extra $60.00 per night to get a view room and use of the concierge room on the 31st floor. Our room was on the 19th floor over looking the tower, pool and the Bellagio water show. The bed turned out to be one of the most comfortable that we have ever had at a hotel. This surprised me because uncomfortable beds were one of the major complaints in other reviews. I asked for extra pillows and they were delivered to us in less than ten minutes. We didn't hear one sound from the renovations although we had a very loud cowboy yahooing in the room next to us! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful especial in the concierge room.

Unfortunately the pool was closed due to some maintenance. We would have liked to have been able to sit at poolside to enjoy some of the suns rays. It was a fabulous week weather wise although a bit chilly to have taken an actual dip in the pool.

The casino was only really smokey on our last night (a Thursday). But I have to admit it was just as bad when we strolled through the Bellagio's casino the same night. The Mirage's casino was smokey too so it has to go with the territory. We don't smoke so we really notice it. The casino was nice if a tad small.

The one note I must make is that the week of Dec 10 -16th is not a slow week anymore in Vegas. This was our fourth visit in four years and I swear there were more crowds than ever! Even the buses were filled to the brim with people.

The only thing I might suggest to ask for a room without a connecting door to another room. The sound of the people in the next room only seemed to come from this door area. We didn't hear a thing from anywhere else!

“A true Paris nightmare”

If you are planning on staying at Paris, you may want to think twice. During my 3 night 4 day stay, I encountered paper thin walls, construction that was not to begin until 1000 am which began at 0615 am, & maintenance workers who knocked on my door early in the morning all 4 days even though the "do not disturb" sign was displayed to ask me if my drain was clogged even though I never reported the latter. I checked in at the airport & was told to go to the "key card" only line when I arrived at Paris only to find that the line was seven people deep & witnessing the check-in personnel not offer their assistance when their lines were nearly empty. After placing my order for dinner at one of the Paris restaurants, the waiter informed me that "one of the cooks had not shown up for work" & the meal would be significantly delayed. Don't waste your money on the Paris buffet, it was horrific!
