This was our 7th stay at the Paris/Bally's properties and once again we had a really great experience with one downside.. Upon arrival on Friday 2/24/06 at 8:15pm, I proceeded to go check us in at the airport. Upon arriving I was informed the computers were down so we couldn't be checked in there and we would have to go to the hotel. This is the 3rd time since Novemeber I have been to Las Vegas and this has happened all 3 times with them. A real downer...But here is the real kicker. I am a Diamond Member with Harrah's and I called ahead the day before because we wanted to upgrade to a suite. I went ahead and booked a Calais suite at a reduced rate but upon arrival at the hotel to check in, it turns out the person who helped us at the airport was a supervisor and thought we were only gold members and unblocked the suite and proceeded to place notes all over the account not to upgrade us. It wasn't until I spoke with the front desk manager at Paris and gave them my Harrah's Diamond card that they fixed things. They apologized and chalked it up to conversion from the connection card (Was also a VIP, but they lost all of that with conversion apparently) to Total Rewards program with Harrah's inc.

After that, we were given a Calais suite, I spoke with my Casino Host and by the end of the trip, we had been taken well care of, enjoyed wonderful food and a fantastic suite. I also won a good chunk of money and the casino and all of the staff I encountered were all very kind and helpful to us. So I am giving them the benefit of the doubt as I know conversion has been tough, but at least most of the folks there are trying hard...We'll be back again in March/April and I hope by then they will have worked these glitches out or it will be time to switch to the Mirage...

Fantastic stay from start to finish. Stayed a week in the Paris in September 05 and as it was my fifth trip to Vegas expectations where high; have to say was not disappointed. Service at check in was excellent, very friendly and quick. The room although the view was limited was clean and well equiped and generous in size. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and ambient.
The only downside was the pool was mainly in shade until early afternoon, but nevertheless still a wonderfull surrounding looking up at the Eiffel Tower.
It is a must to sit and eat on the terrace at Mon Ami Garbi and watch the world go by, and the service is great.
The Paris is a hotel I would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Paris Las Vegas for 5 nights from Feb 23-28. Our reason for staying there was because my wife had a conference in that hotel. Overall, the hotel was nice. The good things about it is that it is in a very nice location on the strip, is not an overwhelmingly huge hotels as others are and the room rates are generally good. The bad parts of the hotel are that there is very little variety of restaurants in the hotel...there are pastry shops and things like that but not anywhere to grab a quick bite to eat. Also the prices are high for food. The rooms are nice and the bathrooms are large and well kept. The housekeeping services are not so good. When we returned to our room one evening (after requesting turn down service) we noticed some debris in our toilet. I flushed the toilet and up came garbage from our bathroom garbage can. The entire bathroom flooded with toilet water soaking the area. It ended up that the turn down maid dumped our bathroom garbage into the toilet flooding it. Ultimately our bathroom was disinfected that evening and we got $100 off our hotel bill.
Beyond that, the rooms offer a free safe, good tv reception, but the beds are very hard and not comfortable. Also the water pressure in the shower is very weak and takes getting used to.
I have been to Las vegas 3 other times and if you can get a good rate, I would highly recommend Mandalay Bay (they have an amazing wave pool and lazy river), Venetian or MGM. I have stayed also at Luxor and think you can do better than this. Keep in mind that Mandalay bay is at the very end of the strip and not in the best location.
I would highly recommend renting a car for a few days and driving out to Hoover dam and red rock canyon. Also driving out into the city of las vegas is nice to see how they live and there are beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

We visited Las Vegas over President's Weekend. We arrived at the Paris at 2am after a long, late flight out of Newark. We found that the hotel was completely sold out and would have to go to Caesar's Palace for the 1st night of our 4 night stay. (Even though we had paid for the the whole trip though a Travelocity deal 2 months earlier). We were offered $100 in food & beverage comp, the cost of the 1st night hotel room comped and cab fare to Caesars... until they found out that we had paid Travelocity, whereupon they told us they couldn't comp us the 1st night...so they increased the F&B comp to $200 and upgraded us to a "P" room suite for the remaining three nights.

The Paris Hotel was wonderful...the room was enormous and had a great view...the casino was beautiful...the themeing (Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph, and Hot Air Balloon) was spectacular.

No problems with any staff rudeness.

Restaurants: The Eiffel Tower Restaurant... spectacular view of the Bellagio Fountains..very pricey menu, although very tasty...we had filet mignon, crusted salmon, two orders of mashed potatoes, two cocktails $127.
Ah Sin...spectacular pan-Asian cuisine...sake, asparagus salad, soup, vegetable/tofu salad...4 large sushi rolls..two cocktails...$60.
Did not have the patience to stand in the Le Village buffet line (the one everyone raves about)..instead waited in the much shorter line (5 minutes a most) for Le Cafe ile St Louis...good service..good omelets...really good coffee...about $35 each morning.

The F&B comp was not applicable at the Eiffel Tower Restuarant nor could it have been used at Mon Ami Gabi..but we used it up regardless.

We saw Barry Manilow (Hilton) and Elton John (Caesars) and both were spectacular. Went to the Jubilee show at Bally's because we wanted to see a "Vegas" show....we were unimpressed...overwhelming stage sets and costumes do not make up for campy skits and boring story lines...asked many times: is this over yet????...the jugglers and acrobats were the best part...BY FAR. Don't waste your money ($130 for 2 cheap seats)...we moved up 15 rows, the place was half full.

Also, I have worked in NYC and go there often socially and use taxi's a great deal, but Vegas taxi's are unbelievably expensive...it will cost you $5 to cross the street...the $10 cab fare the hotel gave us to get to Caesar's was not enough for the round trip (literally across the street)...watch out and walk! Taxi's to ($12) and from ($16) the airport were painless. Tip..have someone go stand in the taxi line at the airport while you get your checked luggage.

Went to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon via small plane on a last minute whim..took a bus tour of the area and had a buffet lunch. Nice change from the hustle/bustle...$400...8 hour day trip.

Hope this helps. We sure learned a lot researching this site...wanted to repay the service.

My wife and I stayed at the Paris from 2/22-2/24/06.We had no problem checking in at reception. In fact, we were upgraded to a P room at no charge. I must say it was very clean and spacious. The only complaint was the lack of water pressure for the shower. The places to eat were fine. We had a quick dinner at Cafe St. Louis. The food and waiter(Felipe)
were outstanding. I ate breakfast there the next morning-My wife had the crepes at Les Crepes(SP)--The best!. The casino and sportsbook were nothing special.Next time we will stay at the Bellagio or Venetian.
