My wife and I stayed at Paris in June. We selected it based on reviews found on Trip Advisor. We found a great deal through a Trip Advisor ad with Southwest Ariline that included airline, hotel and a car for 4 days and three nights.
We upgraded our room to a "Red Room" in advance. If you want to see what it looks like, just check out Paris website.
Check in was hectic. A large crowd of travelers filled the lobby. My wife predicted a 30 minute or more wait. The actual wait was about 15 minutes. Check-in was simple. I checked about an upgrade to a room with a Strip view. The cost would have been an additional $55 dollars. We declined.
The Red Rooms are on the higher floors. They are indeed stunning. The rooms have crown moulding, armour, large flat screen TV, huge comfy bed and on and on. If you can upgrade to a Red Room, I highly recommend it.
The bathroom has the shower seperate from the tub. The bathroom is stunning too. I only wish the tub was a bit larger.
The Paris has a pool too. It is large, but only 3 1/2 feet deep. It's not designed for diving. I saw a few children at the pool, but without a kiddy pool, a diving area, or a slide, it's not a good fit for parents looking for a place for teens or pre-teens trying to blow off extra energy.
The pool staff was efficient and courteous. They will check on you every now and again but aren't pushy. Prices for snacks and beverages are a bit steep but the breakfast burrito (made with a red tortilla) for $10 was good, and big enough that my wife and I could split it.
We joined the players club which is good at all Bally's and Harrah's locations too. Whether you gamble or not, the card gives you a 10% discount in the shops at Paris.
Parking at Paris was ample. Getting in and out of Paris was crazy UNTIL we found the shortcut. If you absolutely must see the Las Vegas Strip from a car and waste both your time and your sanity, good luck with that. If however, you want to actually go somewhere in a timely fashion, access the parking garage from the east end of the property. You can access the parking garage entrance from a street named " Audrie". Audrie is not a through street, but can be accessed from E Harmon Ave. If you come in and out through the "back door" you can save a bunch of time and hassle. You might be able to save some money by having a taxi use it instead of the Strip.
The casino at the Paris is OK. I'm not much of a gambler, so the inside of one casino looks and feels much like any other. I must say however, all the casinos do a better job of ventilation than in years past.
Several internet kiosks are located throughout Paris. Each cost $5 to use. They don't provide change. Internet use is 35 cents per minute, and each page you print costs $1. We found $5 is just enough to access Southwest airline, check in, and print boarding passes.
The concierge desk was most helpful. They answered all questions honestly and fairly without trying to push services on me like a time share salesmen.
Paris seems to cater to couples crowd. Their advertising on their signs say "Everything is sexier in Paris". Paris would be ideal for a Honeymoon, or a couple trying to ad some spark back into their marriage. I did see people with children, but I don't think Paris is a good fit for kids.
I recommend Paris.
