Check in: We checked in on a Saturday late afternoon, July 5th, and it went very quickly and smoothly.
Room: Other reviews are right...the beds are VERY hard! Yet, neither my mom, who is 55 with arthritis, or I woke up sore from the beds. But, the beds had nice feather comforters on them, not the crappy thick, old cotton ones you often get at like a Holiday Inn. We could not get one of the renovated rooms, so we were in an older room. However, the room looked amazing for being an "old" room. The shower and bath tub were separate, so that was nice, and the bathroom had plenty of space and amenities. The decor was very nice and fitting too! Everything from the hotel lobby, walkways, room, bathrooms, etc. was EXTREMELY clean. I'm a clean freak, and it impressed me. Our room faced the construction, but we could still see MGM, Mandalay Bay, and PH. It costs $65 to upgrade to a room with a complete view of the strip, but we didn't do that. We were only in the room to sleep or change clothes, so the view wasn't a concern.
Pool: Some people in past reviews complained about the pool, and I see why, but it was still amazing to me. The pool wasn't anything fancy like some of the cool designs of other hotels' pools, but it was still amazing just because of the view. The pool is a big octagon with plenty of surrounding space & chairs and fun, current music. It's right next to the Eiffel Tower (the base of it is literally right next to the pool area), and straight ahead of the pool you look at Caesars (it's not behind the hotel like most pools). It was a very nice setting, even though it didn't have a lazy river or cool waterfalls. I loved it because laying out is one of my fav. things to do, so it made the hotel worth staying!! You get a free towel by the pool and drink/food wait staff too.
Tips: If you're going to watch TV a lot (which I assume few people will!), don't stay here because other than FOX and a few crappy sitcom channels, you only get Asian speaking channels, Paris hotel promotions channels, and channels that teach you how to play different games/slots. Also, my mom is a huge coffee drinker, and the room did not have a coffee pot. It cost her $13 to order a pot of coffee! As for the stocked, in-room fridge...be careful! If you take any item out of it for 45 seconds or longer, you automatically get charged for it because it has sensors that detect when items disappear. My mom bought a bottled water downstairs (there is a little convenient shop by bottom elevators) and put it in an empty slot in our fridge (from a bottled Gatorade I previously drank), but when she took it out to drink, she got charged for it because the sensors assumed she took a fridge item out, not something we already bought! So, needless to say, you cannot store anything in the room fridge.
Casino: Everytime I went to the casino, not many people were playing cards, but they always were at Bally's. The slots weren't very loose, so we hardly played there.
Overall: I really enjoyed it because of the atmosphere and pool. I would stay again, but I would look at other hotels too because hard beds are just ridiculous, and I want a fridge where I can store my own food/drinks because it's too expensive to buy every drink/food from a pre-stocked fridge or restaurant. If you see random people on the walkways selling bottled water for $1, take it! It's just the cheap spring water they prob. get for 30 cents a bottle, but it beats paying $5-6 bucks elsewhere! Just make sure the safety cap hasn't been busted! :) It seems like the hotels try to get you to pay for every little thing, which is ridiculous, because we would spend more money gambling if we weren't paying outrageous prices for other things! The location is perfect!
