My wife gave me a surprise trip to Las Vegas for my 60th B'Day
from March 16 to the 21'st
I love the city & have visited numerous times over the years.
Since I enjoy the center strip area she made hotel arrangements at the Mirage which I had never stayed at, however, as I do with all trips I checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor where I've never been misguided whether for domestic or international travel.
Boy am I glad I did, there seemed to be many complaints re: the Mirage needing a make over so I checked out Paris where there
was a more positive consensus. I had our agent rebook us to Paris. The price was the same!!!
We arrived at noon Sunday & had to wait in line at checkin for no more than 5 minutes. I asked for a strip room but as seems the case was told it would entail an additional cost , I opted out. She offered a room on the 6th floor which was ready I asked for higher & she pleasantly found one on the 18th floor that the maid was just finishing up in. She gave us a number to call back & we did so about 10 minutes later, the room was ready for us! The room 1871 was in the back of hotel looking down at a parking lot roof below , however it had a beautiful view of the mountains as well.
Who cared, we spent little if any time in the room anyway.
The room was recently reappointed with great furniture & the batth was brand new ,all tiled with both a glass enclosed stall shower & a separate tub.
The place was immaculate, & the service from housekeeping was phenominal. We did have to call for service since the shower had a slow drain & the iron wasn't working. Both were handled immediately.
The hotel is centrally located on the strip & a short walk to all major hotels & malls.
The monorail is just behind it & Paris is connected to the Bally's Casino next door without having to go outside.
The layout is a theme of the streets of Paris & you really feel as if you're walking on them, including the blue sky & clouds above you on the ceiling.
The restaurants are very good & reasonably priced. The breakfast brunch we heard was great but you really need to be there by 8 am. Anytime around 9 & all the restaurants have long lines. We ate breatkast at a small bakery & sandwich shop just across from the brunch & it was unbelievable, the rolls were the best I've had . We met couples who came from the Bellagio to Paris each day for those rolls.
(Olive & Tomato rolls) They were from New Jersey as well & know what good bread is!
The staff is consumer friendly , if we asked where something was located ,they didn't point, they brought us there, despite our saying 'Its Ok you don't need to do that", they continued with us until we were where we wanted to go. Now thats 5 star service. This service was afforded by all staff from security to maintenance!
The only bad thing is the machines were a bit thrifty on me, however a young newly married man did win a million + on a $1 Wheel of Fortune progressive on Monday evening the 17th.
It was St. Paddy;s day & O'Shea's at the Flamingo was "nuts"
however, their usual $3 & $5 tables were not to be found this day. Oh well supply & demand, the place was JAMMED to the gunnels!
It was a little windy & brisk so the pool was not an option until Thursday the 20th. We went & found courteous staff, pleanty of chairs & towels. Its not too big or too small, :comfortable"
I would recommend this hotel to anyone & we'll be sure to revisit & stay the next time.
