We stayed in Vegas in Sept 08. We stayed downtown to experience the Fremont scene for the first three nights and then we moved to the strip. We loved both places for different reasons.

The strip was fun, fast, and there was always so much going on at all times of the day and, especially, night.

There are many free shows and attractions; you just have to look for them. Some of our favorites were the Bellagio Fountains and casino, the living statues at Venetian along with their beautiful canals, the Sirens free show at the TI, the rain storm at Miracle Mile Shops, the moving statues at CP and their casino, and just plain old people watching to name a few.

Of course, you can also see just about anything you want for a price. There are tons of shows, nightclubs, parties, and romantic areas all around in addition to quite a bit of "adult entertainment clearly visible." I would not want to bring my children here, but we had a blast!

Their is quite a bit of walking to get from spots to others, but we did not think it was bad as some make it out to be. I don't really walk a lot as I do medical transcription (translate to sit on butt a lot) and I had no problem with walking some pretty good distances when needed. Also, the monorail worked out pretty good for us (did a review on that too). We took the bus one time, but it was not our favorite way of transport. The taxi's are good for tetting around too.

We pretty much tried to see most of the strip in our time here and seen a lot of things from the Luxor down to the Strat. Every area has its own theme and go really have to see some of the things that they have done to these places to believe it. We did not get to see everything we wanted, but we did see was just incredible.

I hope you have just as good of a time here as we did.

I did enjoy the Strip, but will be glad if I never see it again. Of course if you visit Vegas you have to see the strip, basically because there is bugger all else in Vegas but the strip. It's long. Very, very long. Don't forget to purchase a life saving Deuce ticket. The Deuce is a bus that goes up and down the Strip all day. And you can ride it for a 24 hour period for just $5, for an unlimited amount of times.

The strip starts at one end with Mandalay Bay and finishes way up the North end at the Stratosphere. The South end of the strip is by far the better end. The North end starts to resemble pictures of Afghanistan, it's rough! There are loads of Hotel/Casino's to visit as well as shops selling the same rubbish Vegas souvenirs and Gamesworks, the Coca Cola shop and M and M World.

The one thing I will warn you about is the endless line of men and women trying to hand you cards advertising cheap prostitution. Just ignore them. They do not trouble you as long as you just carry on walking past them.

Just go enjoy the strip, say you've done it!!

I am addicted to the Strip! There is sooo much to do and see. You could easily make a visit to Vegas on a very limited budget, even staying on the strip (sign up for e-mails from Planet Hollywood, Stratosphere, Harrah's, etc. for great promotions). My husband and I don't gamble, so we can stay very entertained for cheap just by seeing the attractions within each casino! Plus, where else in the world is open 24/7?

I love the strip, especially at night, there's so much to see and do. Whether you're hotel hopping, people watching, shopping, it's fantastic. Only place I've ever been where you can walk down a public street with any kind of alcohol in your hand.
