We figured that after a few days along the Strip we would want a break and we were right! The Marriott was the perfect place to stay!

Pros:
-incredibly clean
-very spacious rooms
-the staff helped us with everything we needed
-the pool area is perfect with lots of available chairs no matter what time you show up, great food and drink service and comfortable loungers
-lots of great food options - 2 people can enjoy the buffet for $20, Ceres has a three course options for $20 and a few other reasonable restaurants on site
-only a $40 cab ride from the strip or airport and they have a free shuttle to the strip several times a day

Cons
-the pool closes early (but that seems normal for Vegas)
-the casino is okay, lots of tables and slot machines available but it's pretty smoky and there is not alot of selection when it comes to slots

Definitely a good value and a great way to finish off our trip!

The nice thing about this hotel is you don't have to feel like you are staying in a casino. The gaming area is attached to the hotel, but you don't have to walk through it each time you exit you room. A great place for kids with a huge pool, nice lawns and a decent breakfast. A quick drive to the stip and great golf courses and restaurants nearby. Also, don't miss the Red Rock Canyon park -- a 10 minute drive from the hotel gets you to fantastic hikes and intersting desert scenery.

its location!

Upon arriving at the hotel, you are greeted by complimentary valet service. At the front desk, at check-in, you are treated like a VIP (the complimentary bottled water is a very nice touch.) Our room was immaculate, as well. (and the bathroom, I felt like we were in a luxury suite!!) Very luxurious, quiet, and comfortable. We ordered room service a few times, and it always came on time and the food was awesome!

So what's wrong with this hotel?? Its location about 15 minutes away from the strip (by highway) is a BIG drawback. We were in Las Vegas for a concert at the Hard Rock Hotel and had we realized how far of a drive it would be, we would probably have preferred to stay at the Strip instead. Now, I realize that the location of the hotel is something that cannot be changed, so this is the advice that I would offer. IF you are looking for a one night stay in Las Vegas, will not be visiting the strip, and plan on staying inside the hotel the entire time, then this is your place. There is virtually NO nightlife in the surrounding area as it is located in your typical suburban district.

If you are planning on visiting the strip, do yourself a favor, stay on the strip!!

I'd definitely stay here again though, but only if on a quick one night stay in Las Vegas.

I chose to stay at this property for an overnight Valentine's getaway. I am very familiar with it , and received a terrific "locals' rate" when I booked. We checked in late in the evening; still the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Even a random bellhop we encountered in the elevator told us to have a nice visit.

We were very impressed with the room at first glance: It was incredibly spacious, on the sixth (top) floor with a small balcony overlooking, well, essentially nothing, but it was a nice amenity anyway. A small mirrored bar area with a coffee maker was also featured, as was a walk-in closet with a wall safe.

The bathroom is gigantic with a "rain head" shower (as well as a regular shower head) featuring a tiled seating area, a large jacuzzi tub, a speaker in the ceiling that allows you to hear programming from the TV in the guest room, plenty of lighting, a lighted makeup mirror, a laundry basket for towels, and an old-school telephone in the water closet.

The negatives: Things could have been a bit cleaner. The vent in the water closet was visibly clogged with dust. One of the two faucets at the sink had a hole in it which shot water toward the bathroom mirror and all over the counter when it was turned on. The "rain head" shower head -- even when not being used -- dripped a good amount of water on you whenever the regular shower head was turned on -- rather annoying. There was visible dirt and a couple of black hairs in the bathtub, as well as a large spot of dried urine on the floor in front of the toilet. The bottle of hand lotion provided was only half full, indicating that it had not been switched out following the previous guest. There were not nearly enough towels in the bathroom (only two of each size and a bathmat). And while the bed itself was comfy, the small pillows were not and ruined what might otherwise have been a terrific sleep.

The TV is a little outdated and the remote difficult to maneuver in a darkened room. Also, the ceiling fan was very noisy -- so much so we could not turn it on when we went to bed for fear it would keep us up all night.

Had drinks and dessert in the Irish pub downstairs -- both were terrific. The house band, The Wild Celts, were performing and made things a lot of fun.

Overall, a great stay. Just a few minor quibbles. But we are looking forward to returning for another visit in the future.
