My first time staying at Ballys. I booked my room through Ballys website. Important to note on their website, they have 2 different room options Deluxe or Luxury rooms. They use the same photo for both rooms but the luxury room says it has "spectacular views". I also called the hotel to ask them the difference between the two rooms and they told me the luxury room is renovated in the North Tower with a a great view guarnteed. I asked if I can have connecting rooms, they said absolutley. I booked the luxury room online. 2 rooms for myself and my family. I comfirmed it twice before I left.

The Front Desk person was the rudest front desk person I have ever encountered in my life and I've traveled all over the world, been to Vegas numerous times since 1996. As she was checking us in I told her I wanted to make sure we had connecting rooms. She got very hostile with me and replied that they have no connecting rooms and the other room we booked would be 10 floors above the other room. She also said they had no double beds which we requested. I needed double beds since 2 of my family members were sharing a room..She told me very angrily there are no double beds available at all.
Then I asked her what the views would be.. She replied in a very hostile and angry way that we would have no view at all. I told her I called to confirm and was told I was guarnteed a room with a view. She got very angry and snapped at me, saying the hotel gurantees nothing and we have no view. ... I then got very angry at this point. I told her in a nasty tone that is lie because on Ballys online booking, the luxury rooms come with a "spectacular view" .. I then said I called the hotel to ask the difference bewteen the Luxury and Deluxe room and was told all of the Luxury rooms come with a "spectacular" view and thats why I booked it and payed more money otherwise I would have payed less for the Deluxe Room without a view.
So after that she says nothing and for about 10 minutes, types into her computer. We are just waiting there. She finally says, ok I found 2 rooms for you, next to each other with a great view in the renovated North tower..She said One with a 2 double beds and one with a King that you requested.. She did not even say shes sorry, she was still being very rude and sarcastic.
We got to our rooms and everything was fine, large room, new furniture, very clean,, and the view was nice-nothing spectacular.-- side view of the Flamingo, wynn, stratosphere, ceasers palace, the mountains..

The huge positive for me is the location, connected to Paris, right center strip, near Bellaggio, Ceasers, Alladin. Easy to get around.
I also like that the hotel is not as crowded as other hotels that are themed like Ceasers or Venetian.
I ordered room service often, thought the food and service was very good. I ate only at Sidewalk Cafe. Thought it was nice, casual place to grab something for a quick bite. I did most of my eating at other hotels at Emerils, Top of The world, Mix

The Negative for me is the rude and hostile Front Desk. The hotel really needs to improve their customer service.

The hotels for the elevators are not so safe, anyone can get on them. You don't need a room key to access them. I found this to be unsafe for anyone traveling alone.

The wait for a taxi at the hotel, takes forever. Not too many cabs pull up at Ballys.

If you stay at Ballys don't let the Front Desk people put you into a room that you did not book or a bad room. Make sure you get what you payed for..Be sure to be aggressive and firm until they give you the room you booked. I would not be staying again, I don't care to fight with front desk people. A good hotel does not treat guests like that. Ashame could be a great hotel.

We've enjoyed compedand discounted stays at Harrah's previously, and decided to try one of the other hotels in the Harrah's family for our most recent trip in November '06. Bally's had a really reasonable rate, so we booked two nights, leaving the third night of our 4 day/3 night vacation free.
Check in at McCarran airport was easy and quick, and we asked for and received a North Tower room. We opted to try the shuttle to the hotel ($14 for the two of us). After navigating to the correct exit, we waited in line for about 20 minutes, and boarding the 15 passengers took another 10 minutes. We took the "tunnel route" and dropped off passengers at Caeser's, Bellagio and Paris before finally arriving at the hotel. Next time, we'll stick to our usual cab transportation - maybe a dollar or two more, but so much quicker. Even during NAB we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a cab.
The room at Bally's had a view towards the Westin and the Wynn. It was a standard king room, one of the largest I've seen, a little worn around the edges but extremely clean. They changed out the bedding during our stay (new mattress pads) and the beds were even more comfy. The marble bath was nothing special, but nicely appointed with a mirrored wall and great-smelling toletries.
We ordered room service twice, once for a late night snack and once for breakfast. Both times, it was delived within 25 minutes on a rolling cart with white linen and generous condiment selections. Breakfast was garnished with both the sweetest strawberries we've ever had and orchids.
Service throughout our stay (and we ended up staying our third night here, rather than trying someplace else) was friendly and almost unfailingly impeccable. The only exception was a cranky server at the coffee stand in the lobby.
We tried the buffet, which had excellent prime rib and desserts, and the deli in the shopping concourse, which featured Boar's Head meats and so was as good as expected.
We now have two favorites in the Harrah's family!

  • Liked — Large room size, great location
  • Disliked — Cranky server at coffee stand
  • Tips/Secrets: — During November when the Bally's pool is closed, you can use the pool next door at Paris.

Bally's is still a pretty good deal in a great location, however ...
We've stayed at Bally's numerous times over the last 13 years and I can see a slow consistent decline in the property for the last 2 years. One small example - our bed did not have a dust ruffle - the box spring was exposed (and we were in the North tower and I am a moderate level member of Harrahs' player's club w/ the perks associated). The furnishings are showing wear, and a lack of maintenance is apparent. Our shower head was pathetic - very little power and water spraying all over the place. The slots are consistently tight tight tight. The buffet is OK, but nothing spectacular. Harrah's ownership has taken much of the fun out of it - definitely lost the small perks and general upkeep of the past. We had a free room for a few nights at an off-the-strip property that isn't ranked in the same league as Bally's, and I found that property and room to be much more clean, inviting, comfortable and fun. One final word - don't waste your time and money on "The Price is Right Live". Gamble or eat instead...

I am traveller from Croatia, Europe and have stayed in Bally's for 12 nights in December 2006. For 70$ I get a fee upgrade to the north tower. It was a pleasant surprise to see such a large room, everything look very nice, the view was excellent (to the strip). Toilet is not a five star, although there was nothing wrong in it.
Casino is not among the largest on the strip but it's very comfortable to play in, but my complain is that it's very difficult to win something on the slot machines and I spent really lot of money.
Another thing...pillows are really poor. They really need to switch on the better and larger pillows because those are really small and poor. The same is with towels...
Overall, I am very satisfied with the hotel, it's not a theme hotel, but it's comfortable and you can't beat the price if you are looking good, centraly located hotel on the strip...

Stayed here from Dec 17 to 20. Had a room on the 25th floor in the North Tower. Room is big with sitting area and 2 desks. It's clean, quiet and nicely furnished. The only bad thing is poor television reception and very limited channels. I know one does not go to Vegas to watch TV but when I do, I like to have clear reception instead of seeing lines and flickering screen. Apart from that, I'd stay here again.
