I've stayed at about a dozen Las Vegas hotels, and was very favorably impressed by Bally's. The room was large, quiet and well layed-out. It had the modern features one needs (high-speed internet connection) but not the ones you don't (toilet telephone, plasma screen TV). Bally's central-strip location (directly across from Bellagio) is unbeatable. The casino has a relatively sane floorplan (i.e., you don't get disorieted), and a good variety of games and good restaurants. The breakfast buffet was comfortable and very good, with good service and a nice view, though not super-cheap among buffets (I think it was $12 for breakfast). Bally's is literally connected to Paris--an interior walkway leads from one to the other--so if you are fond of anything at Paris, you are, for all practical purposes, staying there when you stay at Bally's. If you want the ultimate in luxury, glitz, or youth appeal, look elsewhere--Bally's is relatively staid. But for most of us, Bally's will seem quite luxurious, very comfortable, and, if you get the room at the lower end of their price rage, a great bargain.
