i booked a south tower room through the convention website so my rate was 65/night. Check-in line was a 10 min wait, but the lady was friendly. I paid with my amex and asked for a north tower upgrade and got it for free, on a jam packed convention week. They were booked solid. The room was nice and big for a one bed room, had a couch and 3 tables. The room had peeling wallpaper in the bathroom but no big deal. The window facing the north side was filthy and had a sliding door but they riveted it shut so you only had the AC for air flow. No coffee maker since they want you to buy it from them and internet was $15/day if you chose to use it, i had my own wifi card so I didn't. Its nice having the monorail station in your hotel, especially for conventions. The bed was a fold-up one and very stiff but ok, the pillows were flat, i needed 2 just for my head and the give you 3. The sheets were ok but nothing fancy or thick. Noise from outside is easy to hear and there's a fire station down the street on flamingo rd, I counted 9 ambulance/fire sirens in a 4 hour period on a thurs night. Ballys has a small casino compared to others but the staff were nice. Slots are not loose. Craps was ok. The service at the one walk-in cafe i visited was non-existent so i got up and left. Went downstairs to the sabarro instead. Its connected to Paris hotel/casino so walking back and forth is easy. Paris smells better, less smoke. Ballys pool was closed for repairs so you had to use Paris' pool (free) if you wanted one.
