Everything was great. Got upgraded to a North Tower room for free. Room was large and clean. No view to speak of but everything else was as to be expected (this isn't the 4 Seasons so don't expect it to be). I paid $180 for 5 nights so for that you can't complain about anything. Check-in took about 20 or 30 minutes, checkout was a breeze on the TV, bellhops and everybody on the staff was helpful and pleasant. Will be staying here again on my next trip to Vegas.

“Great Location only......”

Bally's Las Vegas

Likes:

Location, location, location!

Dislikes:

Front desk staff was very unfriendly (worked with 3 or 4 of them).
NO FAN IN THE BATHROOM (in both the suite or deluxe room).
Casino and room air quality was worst of any strip hotel I've stayed in.

Recommendation:

I would only recommend this hotel if you get a great deal on the room and plan only on doing minimal sleeping there and gambling at other casinos. The location is great....that is about the only good thing I can say. Word of advice, the suites on the North Tower are NOT worth the extra cost per night. I actually thought the deluxe room was better.

Experience:

Bally's is in one of the best locations on the strip. Not only is it dead center in the middle of the other major casinos, but it has a monorail stop which makes it easy to travel around to other casinos on the strip.

My wife and I booked out room a few months in advance via a web special Ballys was offereing. We booked a non-smoking deluxe room in the North Tower.

I had called the morning we were to arrive and let them know we would be driving in. The person on the phone assured us a room was held for us even though we would be arriving at 8:00pm that night.

As soon as we arrived we were told that there was no rooms available except smoking rooms. They said that they could put us up in a non-smoking suite, but it would cost an additional $100 a night. I explained that I would not be staying in a smoking room and could I get a deal on the suite since I booked so far in advance. They ended up giving us the suite for the night at no additional charge and said that the next day our regular room would be ready and to come down in the morning. I ended up having to stop by the desk every few hours until at 6:00ish when I finally got my new room.

The room quality was okay....but in each room we were in (including our friends who were staying there as well), the air quality was sub-standard. Both my wife and I woke up multiple times throughout the nights with a sore throat or issues with breathing (with or without the AC unit on). As soon as we left the room we seemed fine.

The casino portion was okay....though I would recommend walking to the Paris if you want to do local gambling. There is nothing special about any of the eateries. Parking was good.

My husband and I attended a convention in Las Vegas staying at Bally's. We were told to ask for the North Tower when we checked in, and we did, and they accomidated us. Very nice!
We had a great room, clean, the hotel personnel were very very nice. I would definately stay there again. The slots were very good to us there, and of course we put it all back, but still had fun.
The pool was great, but drinks are expensive. We found you could buy beer, cold, right next to where you get your towels when you enter the pool at a fraction of the outside bar price.
We had a great time, visited other casinos and enjoyed ourselves very much at Planet Hollywood.

Bally's has huge, luxurious rooms with great views of the strip, and is centrally located when hopping from casino to casino. The only problem we've ever had was when travelling with our little show dog. We made arrangements when booking the room and mentioned our dog would be staying with us. On the phone they said it was no problem, that there would be a small deposit of 50 dollars which we paid along with our room fares when booking. When we arrived we were informed that our dog had to be taken up with the luggage, instead of on our leash. At the front check in, we were greeted very nicely until we mentioned we were looking for our dog which was taken by baggage handlers. The desk clerk at first insisted they did not allow pets, and after a short "near argument" in which we had to show her the website states they were pet friendly, she said that we had to immediately pay an additional "50 dollars per day!" We had been booked for nine days, which meant she expected us to pay 400 dollars more for the remaining unpaid pet deposit, (the other eight days that our dog was staying with at the hotel.) She would'nt the baggage handlers to take Mutley up to the room or release him to us until the balance was paid. Ultimately I the baggage handler, who was not equipped to hold the dog released him to me outside on a side street, and we sneaked him up to our room through a side entrance. Because we are not rich people, we had saved for this trip, unbelievably we had to "pretend" to board the dog after the first day. Which meant we hid "Mutley" out and made us feel like criminals. Sneaking him out at odd hours through the back entrances to do his business. In addition the over zealous desk clerk called the room 5-7 times the first evening to ask us to come down and pay the 400 dollar balance, and eventually began calling making sure we had gotten the dog out. She made it her mission to question and watch us everytime we passed by the front desk into the casino. We love to stay at this hotel but worry each time we take our dog and hope that the desk clerk from hell has quit Bally's and gone back to work for Osama Bin Laden.

My title would pretty much sum it up.. First time for me to stay at Bally's and I booked one nite there in between my stays at THEhotel and The Palazzo to give it a try. Upon arriving at friday around 11:30am check-in line was probably about 30-40 min long with only about 5 of the check-in windows open. There were a few open windows for checkouts and diamond check-in members.

Booked a regular room in the south tower and was offered an upgrade into a south tower suite for only $20 or $30/nite but declined. Front desk clerk was very nice. I had a room on the 18th floor of the south tower towards the end and had a great view of Bills, The Flamingo, and Caesar's. Really great view! Room was just cleaned since it had a strong ammonia smell to it. Very basic.. Looked like a holiday inn room out of 1975 or so.. Good size room though. I was surprised that I had no clock/radio in my room! First stay ever anywhere with no clock radio! Don't know if this is a common theme in the south tower rooms or if my room just happened to have been missing one. I looked around the room a little more and noticed a blue pill on the carpet next to the bed! lol I guess Bally's doesn't really vacuum their rooms after a guest checks out? The hotel room corridors were very dim and unkept. I saw someone's room service lunch sit outside their room for about 20 hours! lol There must have been some juvenile conference hosted at Bally's as I saw a lot of high school aged folks there. Also while walking to my room, I'd see about 6 teenagers packed in one room with their rooms opening going back and forth to their friends rooms.

I do like the location of Bally's without a doubt.. The quick connection to Paris then over to PH.. The skywalk over to Bills/Flamingo, Bellagio, and Caesar's. I was just dissapointed in my experience within the hotel tower. All of the staff I interacted with at Bally's was friendly so no qualms about that. I probably wouldn't return to Bally's in the future as a guest but I wouldn't completly rule it out either if the price vs. competition was right.
