“Enjoyed Our Stay at Bally's!”

Bally's Las Vegas

Jul 27, 2008

We arrived at Bally's at around 9 am on 7/11. We figured that a room would not be available so early on a Friday, so we checked our luggage with the bellman. The check-in line was open and the wait was about 5 minutes. The front desk staff was very pleasant and efficient. We asked for a North tower room (preferring a renovated room over a view), which was provided. We were advised to return later when the room was ready to pick up the keys.

We returned a little before noon and our room was ready. We were very pleased with the room. It was a non-smoking king, as requested, and had not a hint of smokiness. The location was on the12th floor, with another room only on one side of us and an emergency stairwell on the other side (It was nice and quiet throughout our stay). The room was large, clean, bright, and in great condition. At first we thought the mattress seemed too firm and we thought it was going to be uncomfortable, but we actually slept great. The bathroom was a comfortable size, with a tub/shower combo. The sundries included the basic shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, and a compact wall mount Conair hairdryer. One thing we weren't used to was the $3 charge to use the room safe, oh well, guess it's worth it. Our view was basically of the back of the Paris. We could see a glimpse of the Paris Eiffel Tower between buildings and, standing at the window, an angled partial glimpse of the Bellagio fountains. Not a great view… we have had better, but we have also had worse!

I forgot about the long walk through the Avenue Shoppes/food court/sports bar area to get to Bally's pool. I’m glad I had a good cover-up! We were there around 1:15 (Friday) and the pool was busy, but not too crowded. We had no problem getting two lounge chairs in the sun. The music the DJ was playing seemed pretty loud, and it took a little getting used to when we were in the pool right in front of the speakers. Drink service was good, and the water temperature was perfect!

Bally's location on the strip is great, close to center, so it is convenient to Caesar's, Bellagio, Planet Hollywood, Flamingo, and much more. It's easy to head out one direction one day, and the other the next. We spent most of our gambling time at the Paris, and there are more dining options there, so the indoor connection is also a great plus.

We would stay at Bally's again.

“North tower great for a saturday night”

My wife and I were staying at the Paris July 13th to 16th. We had the opportunity to go a day earlier and didn’t want to pay Saturday night rates at the Paris so we booked Bally’s. It was a $70 difference.

I was torn between asking for an upgrade to a North tower room and staying with my booked South tower room, but with a chance of having a view of the Bellagio water fountains or strip view. I decided to leave it to chance. When we checked in, around 11am, we only waited for 10 minutes and we were upgraded to a North tower room without even asking. It was a good start to our trip. We were on the 15th floor, nonsmoking room, king size bed.

The room was very nice and HUGE. You could practice ballroom dancing in this room. It had a desk with a granite top which had seating on both sides. The bathroom was very large and roomy, with granite tiles on the floor and in the shower. The granite counter top was nice also. The only down side to this room was the view was of the roof of the building next door. But we didn’t spend much time looking out the window in our room.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was no smoky smell in the room at all. The casino did smell a little of smoke, but not as bad as I had read about. We used the voice check out on the phone and then walked across the inside connecting corridor to the Paris.

The location of the hotel is perfect, in the middle of the strip and right next to the walkways over the roads. It’s not the fanciest hotel, but it was clean and comfortable, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

My daughter and I arrived at Ballys around 7PM. We had a 15 minute wait (certainly not an unreasonable time). I told the girl that I was glad to be at Ballys and was looking forward to checking out their rooms. She said I would probably enjoy the North Tower, but I told her that it was important to me to see what room was available for the $50 summer rate and I had heard on the TA Forum that the view can be very nice in the South Tower. She said that she could have a suitable room in an hour. We said that would be perfect as we wanted to check out Spice Market Buffet. We signed our check in form and she told us to go to the key pick up when we returned and 6523 would be ready.
We dropped our bags at the bell station and went to eat. WHen we returned, we picked up our key within minutes and were on our way to the room. When we left the elevator, we realized we would be on the Paris side half way to LVB.
I opened the door and immediately went to the very large windows and opened the drapes. Whoo Hoo! There stood the Eiffel Tower all lit up and LVB with it's millions of lights shining at me all the way down to Mandalay Bay. What a treat.
Then I heard the music, looked to my right and the Bellagio Fountains were dancing. Oh, this was more than I had hoped for.
THe room itself was clean and quite large with a large bathroom. The killer view was wonderful especially when I realized that the windows open just enough to get great photos.
The Bell Guy brought our luggage up and we settled in for 2 nights. I have walking issues and was very pleased that the walk to Paris, Caesars, Bellagio, Planet Hollywood, Bills and Flamingo were all very doable for me.
Another plus was Paris is connected and I could stay in the air condition areas.
Overall, I found Ballys to be a very pleasant stay.

“Comfortable Stay at Ballys - North Tower”

To ensure a more recently renovated room the north tower is much nicer than the south however provide no real views . The room itself was very clean and comfortable with crisp clean linens. The room was decorated with simple colors and the bathroom was very large suited with marble tile. There was no mini bar but there was a coffee maker, iron/board and an in room safe (for a small daily fee).
Check in was smooth with no issues and very little wait.
The pool is very basic and provides a view of the monorail tram that comes through every so often, however - unlike the Flamingo I never had a problem finding a lounger.
The poolside drink service was attentive although somewhat expensive for drinks.
The casino itself seems to attract an older crowd and since I am in my late 30's I tended to spend more of my time at other casinos. While playing vp at the bar, the bartenders were terrific keeping your drink full.
The steakhouse at Ballys was terrific. This was my 2nd time dining there and again I was not disappointed. Including wine etc. the bill was about 300 for 3 people.
Overall a nice stay.

“Very Nice Room. Friendly Staff”

Bally's Las Vegas

Jul 9, 2008

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Bally's. Following the advice on this website we asked for a North Tower room and were not disappointed. Very spacious room with a very nice, clean bathroom. Without exception, every staff member was extremely friendly and pleasant. The housekeeping service was great. No matter what time of day we left our room, our room was straightened when we came back.
A word of advice, do not pay the outrageous $4 charge for the water bottles in your room. There is a convenience store just a short walk away, with bottled water for 0 .79. Also, downstairs, on the way to the pool, there is an inexpensive Deli where everything we tried was excellent.
