This was my first time staying at Bally's and I was very pleased. I had booked a South Tower room on a special promotion for $50/night, for two nights. I didn't get to check-in until almost 8pm because I had been in Laughlin all day. The check-in experience went like this:

There were only two clerks working the desk and there wasn't a line, but both clerks were helping someone. I stand at the front of the rope waiting to be next. Here comes this woman stomping up to the counter and demands to be helped. The clerk was helping someone else and told the lady to get in line. So the woman stomps over and stands right in front of me and tells me in no uncertain terms that she was going to be next. Whatever, lady.

When the clerk was done the lady stomps over and starts freaking out about something. Honestly, I don't know what she was yelling about and I didn't bother listening. I just zoned out and waited. The clerk tells the woman to go down to another desk and wait for a manager. The same clerk waves me over to be helped and the lady steps a couple feet over. I was planning on asking the clerk if I could get any kind of view of the fountains with my South Tower room, but after she just got done being yelled at I didn't say a thing. I just handed her my reservation paper and my ID/CC. She click, click, clicked away and then handed me some keys and told me I'd be in the North Tower. I REALLY wanted to be in the South Tower for the potential of a fountain view, but didn't object. I knew this was an upgrade since North Tower was a few years more renovated than South. So I thanked her and went on my way.

I'm dragging my bags down a really long hallway. I am really annoyed because I am all the way at the end of the hall. Last door! I practically walked to Ellis Island! I open the door, put my bags against the wall, see the armoir, couch, bed, and then my head keeps turning to the right and I see I have a HUGE JACUZZI and marble floors and two huge closets, and two sink/vanity areas. There's even a separate room for a toilet, a separate room for a bidet, and a standing glass shower. I could not believe it. I have never had a complimentary upgrade before and this was the upgrade of a lifetime. I got a magnificent suite for $50/night! It was a dream come true.

To celebrate I ordered room service and the order was handled promptly. Well within the 30 minutes I was quotes over the phone. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and some creme brule. Both were of great quality.

Stayed of Bally's because of the great location! You're near a lot of great hotels within a short walk away. Got a free upgrade to a North Tower room (just ask at registration desk). It was a very clean and huge room with nice comfy bed. Not impressed with their casino or service at casino but who needs Bally's when there's lots of others nearby!Next time I go back I'll definately stay there again!

Loved this place! Got a great deal online (be sure to check their websites if your travel dates are flexible), and the location in the middle of the strip is perfect for exploring both ends by foot - plus there is a monorail station right outside if you get tired, shuttle to off strip hotels like the Rio! Very friendly and helpful front desk too. Also liked the fact that it was joined to Paris so that you could use some of their amenities (business services etc).

“Okay stay for two nights”

Bally's Las Vegas

Jun 28, 2008

This was my second trip to Vegas and my husband I had a very different experience. We stayed at Bally's for two nights($84.00 a night June). The check in line was extremely long and when we got to our room we had an okay view and an okay room. Nothing like the MGM ($98.00 a night in October), which we stayed at for our first visit to Vegas, very chic, but not too stuffy. Overall, the stay at Bally's was decent, however the shower was a disaster. It was like camping, there was just a lonely old shower curtain that "kept" the water from escaping the stall. After every shower we had to tend to cleaning duty by mopping up the floor :(
Good thing our stay was for a wedding. I don't recommend this hotel for a vacation. MGM & Paris are a great bet.

Our stay at Bally's was good overall. You cannot beat the location, central on the strip (Bellagio, Caesar's and Flamingo across the street. Also an easy walk to the Venetian). And you cannot beat the price. We had two rooms in the North Tower and were quite pleased with them. The shower pressure could have been a lot better though.

I did like the pool, even though it was nothing special. It was large though and there were plenty of chairs. I hate having to go down at 7am to fight for a chair, not a problem at Bally's. The drinks at the bar are outrageous. $7 for a Bud Light. If you step inside passed the towel girls, there is a little shop that sells the same beer for $3.50 and you are allowed to bring it to the pool. It's not even farther than walking to the bar. A small fruity drink at the pool bar is $12. Yikes.

We enjoyed the food at Johnny's Delicatassen, and at Nosh. I also liked how Bally's is connected indoors to Paris, so there are more food options etc. We did take the free shuttle from Paris to the Rio as well. I did not think the walk from Bally's to the shuttle area of Paris is that far.

My only complaint with Bally's really is the smokey casino. I do think it was one of the worst for smoke. This was our first time in Vegas so we visited almost every single casino/hotel.

I think Bally's is perfectly fine if you want a cheaper hotel that is in a central location.
