“Great location on the strip”

Stayed for 4 nights for getaway with my mom. Was trying to decide between the Paris and Bally's. Decided on Bally's ultimately because of the slight difference in price. Although Paris is a prettier hotel, the 2 hotels are "sister resorts" and connected by the shopping promenade. So you get to enjoy all the common amenities without the cost. Excellent location...centre strip...within walking distance to almost all resorts on the strip. We walked from Circus Circus to MGM Grand over 2 days...bring comfortable shoes!! Definitely pay the extra $$ to stay in the North tower. If you like a quiet room make sure it doesn't face Flamingo Blvd. which has quite heavy traffic. Inner room was extremely quiet...didn't hear a peep from any ajoining rooms, which is very rare. If you book through Expedia and book a deluxe room be sure to bring your confirmation...as often happens with bookings through expedia (in my experience) they don't get the "extra details" with the booking....good to have "proof" right there. Smooth check in...5 minutes wait. Good basic accomodations in terrific location.

Being newbies to Vegas, I combed through the Vegas Tripadvisor site for suggestions on places to stay. After a few months of research, we decided upon Bally's because we couldn't pass up the deal we were getting through a package deal with Orbitz. Of course, that was for a South Tower room. After a 3-1/2-hour delay in Chicago, we arrived at about 5:45 on Monday, 11-24, to check in. No line at all, walked right up to a younger, apparently new check-in clerk. She was so pleasant! What a joyful way to start a vacation. She was all smiles! I inquired about an upgrade and was told North Tower would be an extra $21.40 a night. Since we were only staying four nights, we agreed. She put us in a "higher" room, 2032, on the 20th floor. Not a bad view...mostly of the distant airport runways but that was fine.

First impression was that room was very clean. Bathroom very large and very clean. Bed was somewhat hard but after long days of walking the strip (along with a 3-hour time change), we literally fell into sleep comas every night regardless. We did have a small coffee pot in our bathroom that made one cup at a time. Who ever heard of such of thing?? I ended up going to Starbucks at Planet Hollywood every morning AFTER I had my one cup in the room. The shower spray KILLED me! I have never had such a strong shower. I actually had to adjust the spray lighter to save my poor skin! All-in-all, I was impressed with the size and cleanliness of the interior of the room although, as previously mentioned, the windows were very dirty on the outside, making the view less appealing.

Maid service was excellent. We only left our room for a few hours at a time and whenever we came back, our room was always refreshed. We left our maid a good tip.

Wasn't impressed with the food choices available at the hotel so therefore did not eat there.

The slots were extremely TIGHT! I lost everytime I put money in a machine at Bally's but did okay other places, like Bellagio and Planet Hollywood.

Great place to stay if you're just looking for somewhere to rest your head for the night and a central location within walking distance of pretty much everything.

Just came back from a 4-night stay at Bally's and we are completely satisfied. Location is great. Quick access to Paris and parking garage. We were given a renovated room in the North Tower and it was more than sufficient. The building overall is showing some age, but not to the extent that it negatively impacted our stay. Would recommend the hotel, as long as renovated room is available.

“Great Value”

We were upgraded to the newly renovated rooms, so this review may not apply to the older rooms.

This hotel offers a great value in my opinion. We paid approximately $50 a night, which was the lowest available price on the strip. I was extremely impressed with the size of the rooms. The room was very clean.

The hotel is also in a prime location on the strip. We did not need to use public transportation or a taxi except for the airport. We walked everywhere we needed.

The restaurants that are in the Paris side of the hotel were also excellent!

We were their to celebrate the double wedding so a total of six adults in late November 2008.
When we arrived the reservations were wrong for all three rooms booked and after some discussion we were able to pay $100.00 per couple for a room upgrade. Room was large enough and the windows were still dirty (see previous review). We have stayed in many hotels worldwide as well as several in Vegas and I must say we were disappointed in Ballys. This hotel is a "nickel and dime" operation charging guests extra for every service and convenience. Want wine glasses in your room (standard everywhere else) that is $2.00 per glass. corkscrew...another $2.00! If you stay for a few days, they may get around to cleaning your room by 7pm. Don't expect much though...just clean towels. Never again for us!
