“North Tower - Great Stay!”

Bally's Las Vegas

Apr 20, 2008
6/6 found this review helpful

After reading through the reviews here on TripAdvisor, I asked for a North tower room when checking in. I was with three other people and they all requested the same. Since we arrived quite late, there were not many rooms left. Two of my co-workers are smokers and got smoking rooms. Without asking, they upgraded my other co-worker and I to a junior suite for the first night if we were willing to move the second night which wasn't a problem.

The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. Moving rooms the next day only took a moment and I never saw a very big line at the front desk.

The junior suite was massive (see photos) but it was mostly just big vs nice. Nothing wrong with the room at all, just nothing spectacular. The second room was also quite nice and nothing to complain about. Bathrooms in both were large and spotless. Beds were very comfortable and there was a nice selection of foam and down pillows to choose from.

The only complaint was that I lost $60 playing roulette :)

Perfectly acceptable hotel and a decent price. I'd definitly stay again.

let me tell ya about my stay, Everything that i told was gonna be comped. NOT. I had to pay for everything! Then i checked into my room which was nice until i got into the shower ,where there was old soap covered with hair , i told the front desk , which responded they would send someone up . someone did come clean the room about 4 hrs later, and guess what , they left the old soap ,,,,, so then i asked about upgrading to a suite, with a world pool bath , i was told it would be comped if i played enough.so i spent the whole night gambling lost over ,$5000. went to the desk and of course no comp! so i paid the $109 to upgrade , i had to wait for the room to be cleaned though so i went to bed, when i awoke i went to the vending machines. put my money in and tried to get a pepsi and of course it gave me water. then i put my money in the snack machine , and of course it took it , then i walked back to my room and got more money back the machine , and it wouldnt take bills it was broke , Then i finally got to my new room the suite. i had to pay for , and the worldpool didnt work , i called housekeeping they told me one way to fix it , that didnt work , so i was mad , i went to the desk once again , they sent me to the hosts. who couldnt help me .who sent me to the hotel manager , i was told he was now advised of it and would send someone up , that didnt happen either , so i play some more, and went back to my room , got in the tub to take a regular bath, and the top of it was covered with pubic hair and filth. at this time i got my camara and took pics of ,the hair and the filth , not talking about just a little either! when i told the front desk and showed the pics, i was told , wow thats nasty im sorry. so any way i am going to post these pics. and show the world how nasty it is at ballys hotel. heck i may put them on ebay , and get some of my money back lol. anyway good luck and if you do go , take some cleaning supplies with you! pic will be put on once ready, if you would like to contact me call me at [--]

“Bally Needs Attention”

Bally's Las Vegas

Apr 18, 2008

I have just returned from a stay at Bally's Hotel & Casino. I was very disappointed upon arrrival to find that they could not supply the room that was reserved. They put me in the South wing, to the noise of a fan that was unbearable. I then asked to be moved and received another room that needed a thorough cleaning. I stayed one night and then the next day had to return to the hotel between the hours of 1:00 to 6:00 to move to the North Tower, as that suited the hotel. I was at a conference and this posed problems. However, I complied and was moved to the North wing which was much better. Bally's needs to at least conduct a thorough cleaning of their South wing, though it is old, a good cleaning would help a great deal.

my wife and I went back to Ballys for our second stay in the last 6 months. last stay we were in the north tower, which was recently renovated, with better beds, linens, and a great TV. This time we stayed in the South tower since we had an early check-in and didn't want to wait so we could chill by the pool.

Suffice to say the south tower is similar to the reviews we had read--OLD. the rooms were fairly clean, however the bed was a bit stiff and the pillows were like bricks and firm. the room was large and the bathroom was big, but when we stay there again it is worth the wait for a room in the North tower. The furniture was dated, and the carpet behind the beds and lamps were dusty and dated. The TV was small, but for vegas you don't spend a lot of time in the beds anyway.

Ballys is a GREAT VALUE for their location on the strip. there is a food stand called NOSH which is great for a quick bagel and coffee. the AC worked great and the service was good. The pool is great and not really that packed. but again, GET A NORTH TOWER ROOM, it is worth the few hour wait you might have to endure. The South tower was OK and the view was fantastic, but everything is dated in the room, including the showerhead. We will be back to ballys for sure.

Eat over in Paris, since it is attached; the cafe's are great and the atmosphere is a little classier but for a room you can't beat Ballys' price. A superb value. Can't wait to go back.

We stayed in the North Tower at Bally's, and it was GREAT. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and eager to help. Bally's is attached to Paris, so you can go there with a short walk (all indoor). The casino is a little more smokey than others, and the restaurants are not very exciting, but Bally's is centrally located on the strip, so you can easily travel to other hotels to eat, shop, gamble, etc. There is a monorail stop at Bally's and the overhead crosswalk for Las Vegas Blvd. is directly in front. I would definitely stay there again, and I am picky about hotels.
