It was better than I expected. I had looked at so many reviews that I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was. For it to be on the strip, it is extremely far away from all of the other hotels. Thankfully, we had a rental car. The service was nice and helpful. We stayed in an upgraded room in the premiere section. This was a disappointment because it was no more of an upgrade than a local Motel 6. It was very basic. I can't believe that people actually pay for an upgraded room at this hotel. I can imagine what the standard rooms look like. The buffet was absolutely wonderful. The best I tasted during my stay. On our last night we got to the buffet about 30 min. before closing at the food was all dried up. Well, the next day the manager refunded us our money. This is the kind of service that would make me stay there again. We did go to the observation tower which was free if you were a guest ($10 if you were not). I don't see what the fuss was about. I would be disappointed if I had paid. Overall, it was a nice stay.

We arrived very late due to problems at the airport. The check-in process took awhile and we were very tired, hungry and in need of some fun! Our room was nice, everything was very clean and we had a decent view of the strip. The location of the Stratosphere is less than perfect but there are many modes of transportation including a trolley that we used that was very in-expensive. We stayed here on a Sunday and Monday and there was alot going on. Our pool on the 8th floor was great! Loved the bar, drinks were expensive but not as bad as some of the other hotels. One thing that was less than superb was the service at the restaurant that we first ate at. They should have more than one of their restaurants open 24 hours. Service was good, but very, very slow. Overall I was very pleased with the service at the Stratosphere. I would absolutely stay here again!

After mixed reviews I was anxious to see how the Stratosphere stacked up! We were pleased. The room was a decent size to fit our needs, bathroom very nice size! It was very clean. I seen nothing in the room that "turned me off" nor did I smell anything in our non smoking room. When arriving for check in the line was quite long...but it moved FAST! 20 minutes and we were checked in. The check in attendant we had was friendly.

I didn't notice any odor in the casino, but occasionally a cigar. I don't smoke, and my eyes were not bothered by the casino...however we didn't hang out down there much.

I booked a wedding at the top of the Stratosphere tower, and we went up and decided it may not be private enough for us. We contacted the wedding coordinators and for a 150.00 upgrade fee we were moved to a very beautiful chapel. The photo's from the phototgrapher, although expensive, were beautiful. The whole wedding experience was wonderful at the Strat!

We ate at the 24 hour diner, Luckys, it was fast and tasty!
We ate at Top of the World, and it was ok....views wonderful...meal not worth the price....service wonderful!

The best meal we had in Vegas was Cheescake Factory in Caesars mall!!!!

Don't do the time share thing, we did it for free show tickets and dinner, and we will NEVER do it again!!!
We ate the Strat buffet...it was great...and the American Superstars show was fun and entertaining.

Head down to New York New York and go to the Dueling Piano Bar....FUNNEST time of trip!!!

We stayed 3 nights at the Stratosphere, Feb 26-Mar1. We really enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised!! After reading some previous reviews we were a bit nervous, especially as we were arriving late. We asked for and were given an upgraded room (extra $20/night) on the 23rd floor with a view straight down the Strip!! Our first day we walked all the way down the strip, past the Mandalay Bay, as we wanted to see the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign. The walk really wasn't too bad, took our time and strolled in and out of many of the hotels along the way. We weren't in any hurry and made a day of it. From the Stratosphere it's a fair distance to Treasure Island, so only walked it the one time. After that we took the Deuce or taxi. Everyone we encountered at the Stratosphere was helpful and pleasant. The pool area is nice, not warm enough weather to swim, but did check it out. Can highly recommend Fellini's and American Superstars, both right at the Stratophere and the view from the top of the Tower is quite incredible. All in all, we really liked
the Stratosphere and will recommend it to friends.

I have stayed at luxor, the orleans, the venetian and one other hotel in whose name i don't recall in vegas. this was by far the worst.
first of all, when you walk in there is the casino that is so smoke filled and combined with what seemed like some chemical air freshiner or sanitizer. it made me dizzy and my eyes were blurry for several hours the next day! really wierd. as we came down the escalators from the parking lot, there was a man and woman that looked kind of like homeless people, sitting on the stairs, holding a squalling new born baby! why would you bring a newborn into such a smoke filled place is beyond me.
the whole atmosphere of the casino was very ghetto/hood. with some actual scary looking guys that were quite drunk.
next was the check in desk. never in even the worst hotel/motel i have stayed in have i gotten such a rude and cold reception.
she waved us over from the line. did not look up AT ALL, held out her hand and said "id." she did NOT look at us even once during the whole encounter. she proceded to check us into a room. when i asked what room she was giving us she said "word tower" we had paid more for the premium tower but she was downgrading us! now normally when they don't have a room for you in the category you paid for, they upgrade you. i told her that i didn't want the world tower and was too tired and offended to argue about anything when she said all they had left was the handicap room. we said that was fine and took it.
the room: i think probabley motel 6 has a better room. the same chemical smell was here but not as strong. everything was dated. the bedspread was thread-bare. the beds felt like you were sleeping on just the box spring. our view sucked. in the bathroom since it was a handicap room, there was no room for toiletries and it really really needed upgrading. all in all the hotel room experience was not good. i don't reccommend staying here unless you are getting a super cheap price.
the only saving grace was 1. the buffet. we had 2 comp buffet tickets and a pair of free tower tickets. at first i didn't want to go to the buffet because of the bad experience of the rest of the place but my husband said we should check it out. since it was sunday, they were serving sunday brunch and we just had to pay $6 extra with our free tickets. the place was surprisingly clean and well managed. the champagne, much to my surprise was actually good (and they had strawberries with it. as well as mimosas) it wasn't that sour tasting stuff some cheapo places served with brunch. they had an omlette making station that made very good made to order omlettes. so i had an omlette with croissant and crablegs with champagne.
after that we went up 106 floors with our complimentary tower passes and had a great view of las vegas. they had three rides that we didn't try but one hangs you off the side of the building! it looked terrifying. we sat one floor under it and drank some coffee (they had a starbucks up there too.)
all in all the buffet and the trip up the tower was the only saving grace for the stratosphere. (sorry i wrote so much)
