“Stay away”

Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Tower

There are too many good hotels in Vegas to stay here. The staff is not accommodating and most of the hotel rooms are terribly beat up. In addition, the hotel is located very far to the end of the strip, you are thus ½ hour or more away from the hotels you will want to see ( and wish you booked into). Don’t be fooled by the cool looking globe- the place is on the order of Circus- Circus ( another hotel to stay away from). Consider Wynn, MGM, or other properties where service plays some role in the management of the property. You will be disappointed if you stay here.

My stay at the Stratosphere was below average. The hallways stank of trash and the room was not as clean as other hotels I've stayed in. Additionally, it took my husband and I about 45 minutes to check in. We were lucky. Everyone else in our party spent an hour checking in. DO NOT dine at the restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere. We dined at this restaurant with our family. For over $300, we got average meals, slow service, and best of all...negative attitudes from the waitstaff, the hostess, and even the manager. The only good thing was the view. If you visit the Stratosphere, pay the money to go to the top of the tower and then leave!

We were given a room that overlooked an old derelict neighborhood. Problems began almost from arrival at the hotel. It took the lackluster staff nearly 2 hours to check us in. The first morning we were there, the maid actually walked into our room without knocking at 8:00 am. The staff was rude at best and some of the casino management was deplorable. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if the alternate were sleeping on the street.

“Great Stay at the Strat!!!!!!”

Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Tower

We had a wonderful stay at the Stratosphere! I have stayed at some of the other hotels before, but we were on a budget this time and decided to go a little cheaper in price. Well, we decided on the Statosphere. Loved it! Its peaceful, quiet, except for in the lobby, casino's are never peaceful nor quiet, but thats why we go there right? The rooms were cozy and clean. the staff friendly and helpful. They have a nice shopping center, food center, and bars upstairs. They have a starbucks in the casino!!!!!!!!! :) Great restuants. To go to the other end of the strip isn't hard at all.. the bus stops in front of the hotel, the monorail stops about a block away, and the walk down the strip isn't that bad!!! The strip is great... and being at this end of it, you can easiily get to Freemont St too! Be sure to check out the little casino next door to circus circus.. its small, but we found that we had more luck with the slots there than any other hotel on the strip, and they actually still use coins there instead of the ticket method like the other places... its nice to hear the quarters dropping!!!! Anyway, don't pay any attention to the bad reviews on here, I found nothing bad about the place!!!!!!!!

My husband and I stayed here in November of 2005. Because we were tourists from New Zealand our whole trip to Las Vegas was pretty daunting. I found the Stratosphere clean and comfortable but nothing too fancy. One thing that I would like to make clear to other tourists not familiar with Las Vegas and the strip is that the Stratosphere is way down the scummy end. We couldnt catch one certain shuttle from the airport because we were officially classed as "downtown" so caught a taxi which was quite expensive. We tried to walk next door for something to eat and found it quite scary. The police had closed the road and we felt we were maybe in the wrong part of town. Inside the Stratosphere itself was huge and the room service and McDonalds was handy. The Deuce also took forever as we were nearly the last stop. The tower and casino itself are definitely worth a look.
