When I booked this hotel it was through a flight/hotel package on Expedia and I was looking for price over location. That turned out to be a bad idea. The hotel is perfectly serviceable. There was nothing wrong with the room and I enjoyed the casino. It is just so far down the strip that you have to take cabs everywhere. It is nowhere near any public transportation, at least not close enough so that I'd want to walk. I'd recommend staying at either Flamingo or TI, both centrally located and reasonably priced. Cabs there are also so expensive you're just better off paying $50-$100 more total for the hotel b/c you'll spend at least that in cabs.

We spent 4 days here with my two teen age children just prior to our wedding at the Bellagio. For the last 2 days we were joined by the "Mom's" (my mom and my soon to be mother in law). It was a great place for our needs-the kids loved the tower and the thrill rides, the McDonalds and the pizza place on the shopping level were big hits and even the mom's enjoyed the view from the indoor observation deck. We had a rental car and parking was easy. I definately recommend the Premier Tower rooms-access to the garage is quick, Starbucks is right at the elevators, and also access to the shopping level is easy. The best part was you don't have to walk across the casino every time you come and go. We have stayed in both towers and the Premier is definately better. Our room was clean and the staff was good at keeping it that way, despite 2 messy teenagers and their exploding suitcases. The pool area was great, although the really loud holiday weekend dj was a little bit much. We were always able to get lounge chairs and it was never too crowded. Again, getting there from the Premier tower is super quick-just an elevator ride to the 8th floor. Our room was nicely decorated with 2 queen beds and a decent sized bathroom-roomy enough for the 4 of us to all be there at the same time and not fall over each other. (again, much larger than the World Tower rooms). The rooms have been remodeled and look it. We had a view of the jumbo tron on the front of the building, the thrill rides above and a bit of the pool area. We ate at Roxys and Luckys and also frequented the Starbicks in the casino, where service is super fast. The kids really enjoyed Freemont Street. We also visited Red Rock Canyon, which I highly recommend. We want to go back in either the fall or early spring when the weather is more conducive to hiking. There's a new visitor center opening at Red Rock in the fall of 2009. We also ate at the nearby Tiffany's Diner, which was great, cheap and easy to get to. The White Cross Drugstore (Where the diner is located) sells very reasonable supplies-tooth paste, post cards, shampoo, even alcohol. We bought a styrofoam cooler for $2 to keep bottled water and drinks in our room. It worked out really well. Overall, the Stratosphere is a great value for families. We will go back with the kids again.

Stayed 3 nights in a premier non-smoking room (and the room smelled of smoke!). Very spacious room with 2 queen beds and spacious bathroom. V clean.

Location is not good as you are at the very far end of the strip away from everything. There is a bus that goes up the strip but it is extremely slow and takes an eternity to travel up the strip. There is also a monorail which is a 10min walk from the stratosphere but I didn't get this.

The pool was good BUT they play music there the whole day and it is really loud so reading or listening to your ipod is nigh impossible. This was pretty annoying.

Buffet in hotel is good.

Overall, this hotel was really cheap and good value if you don't mind having a bit of a trek to get to the main part of the strip. If I went back, I'd pay more and stay closer to the strip.

The rooms and the hotel in general were very clean. The tower was amazing--easily the best view of the strip. The location has its pluses and minuses. It is definitely too far to walk to the main strip, but if you rent a car and you plan on getting out and about quite a bit, the location is great due to easy highway access and no strip congestion. The people... eh... not so good. They were not rude, but they could have been more helpful.
If I ever go back, I will avoid the "World II Tower" at all costs. I don't think I will stay in that thing if they try to drag me up to the room. The elevators to the tower were terrible and, everyday, during peak periods, I was stuck waiting forever and then riding in a packed elevator. Awful. Also, the room had no view... literally. The view out the window was of a wall about two feet outside the window.
The pools were shallow, but nice and not overly crowded. And the parking was great... very convenient and only a short walk to the inside of the hotel.
The price was quite good, but with the price, we got what we paid for too. Next time, I will definitely pony up the extra $10 per night to stay elsewhere, but this was still a good deal.

We were quoted a rate but upon check in they tried to tell us we needed to pay more even though we had paperwork with us. It took a a lot of our time to get them to straighten it out and had to call in the manager who was not too friendly. We still ended up having to pay more than the agreed upon rate. But with my daughter getting married the next day I did not have the energy to argue about the discrepancy. I was not about to let his arrogant attitude ruin my day and ended up just walking away and joining my family members who were staying at a different hotel. The room was ok, no frills..I could not get an internet connection in my room. It was clean and had a lot of room in it. We enjoyed the pool area and discounted ride tickets. Except for the billing error and management attitude,it was a nice stay.
