“$5/day Resort Fee...LOL”

Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Tower

WOWZA!!
i know a lot of Vegas 3* hotels charge $1/day for use of the phone (local calls)
approx 5 weeks ago i stayed @ the Riviera hotel in Vegas and they chaged like $3day for a resort fee
my room @ Stratosphere was one of the most basic 3* hotels i have staed @ in Vegas. The remote control for the tv didn't work.
The bathroom was like 2 feet by 2 feet. The sink was actually in the room. Almost all the plugs in the room didn't work.
Unless you're getting this place for a smokin' dealio I would recommend staying closer to the middle stirip or even the South end where a lot of casino's are connected!

“old dirty hotel”

Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Tower

Awful hotel; I stayed in better Motel 8s. Rooms are noisy (loud air-conditioning+highway noise) and dirty. There was no shampoo (I had to ask for it specifically). Beds are uncomfortable. Pool reminds me a municipal pool in Brooklyn; the 25th floor adult only European sunbathing pool is a joke; it has the ambiance of a high school parking lot. The hotel leads you to believe that the rooms are in the tower; but they are in a separate buildings. Location is also bad; it is the last hotel on the strip and the neighborhood is very unattractive. Rooms in Riviera (several blocks toward the civilization) are much nicer.

We were hesitant about staying in a hotel so far off of the strip, but ended up being glad that we did! The room was clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping was fantastic!
My favorite memory of the whole trip was sitting at the romance ultra lounge at the top of the tower drinking martinis and gazing out over the whole town.
The restaurants were great....I'd never eaten bread pudding at 3am until this trip!
The pool and fitness room were clean and well maintained.
The casino and floor were not nearly as smoky as others, and the staff was very friendly and accomodating.
We really enjoyed being closer to "old" Las Vegas and Freemont street as well. Having rented a car, the distance did not make much of a difference to us.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

We had a LATE ARRIVAL from NY, but the hotel was informed about before and we payed the full price.
We were arrived at 3 a.m., the fly was late 1,5 h, we were arrived from Europe through NY therefore were totally tired, wanted get our shower and go to bed. BUT surprise surprise we had to wait for our room, at the desk problems with nobody-knows-what, than no room (????????) but suite and ... "very sorry". Suite was a ... PARTY ROOM not suitable for sleeping for 3 persons . Not at all! No bed prepared, only two places for sleeping, no shower... We have called the desk, and had to wait 20 min (!) for 1 pillow and 1 blanket. Yes. 1 pillow and 1 blanket for 3 persons! We were 3: my husband, my daughter 14 and me. We have tried to call the desk, but nobody answered. After 30 min house-keeping has made the bed for 2 persons, but what about the 3th`? We have ordered and payed the room with 2 double kings, therefore I went to the desk and asked to speak with the hotel manager. Only after that I have get my room. I have also received free tickets for the show All Stars, but we had jet lag and cannot go to see it.
A friend of mine said me he had a similar problem with Stratosphere some years ago, therefore I like to tell this story to everybody.

“Inclusive accomodations!”

Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Tower

We fully enjoyed our 3-day stay at this hotel. We traveled with 4 children (7, 8, 12, and 17) and all of them got something out of it. The casino/lounge areas were bright, clean and not smokey as were some of the others that we passed through. The food choices ranged from inexpensive fast food to finer dining (Top of the World). The room was comfortable, roomy, and clean, and the staff were very accomodating and friendly. We even enjoyed the lounge acts. Another plus was the shopping area. The kids got to get tattoos and shop for a variety of inexpensive souvenirs. One downfall is the reported area. More than one staff member told us to "Stay to the right. Don't go to the left." upon leaving the hotel to walk the Strip. It didn't affect us though because I took them at face value and stayed to the right :-). I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it as well.
