Stayed at the Stratosphere Hotel enroute for the 'USA Road Trip 2008' that I was doing with friends which started at Las Vegas and was to finish back in Las Vegas two weeks later.
I have previously stayed at the Stratosphere a few years ago so I always knew what to expect - nice hotel, but a bit of a hike to the main part of the Strip.
As it worked out, bad weather in Chicago and missed connecting flights saw us fail to get to Las Vegas for the first night that we had booked at the Stratosphere. We eventually arrived around 9 o'clock the following morning and it was no problem with reception in checking in early and getting a nice room in the Tower (4.11.22) with a view of the Strip.
The room was clean, with linen and towels all clean and a great comfort after 32 hours of travelling. The only negative I would give is that I thought the walls and doors were a bit on the thin side as on a few occassions during the one night I stayed here I was awoken by noisy guests in the corridors. Although I suppose you get that in most Las Vegas Hotel & Casinos?
Overall, a very affordable hotel on the Strip within Las Vegas which offers a large gaming floor if you fancy a quick gamble or a nice relaxing environment after a long day or two of travelling. I would stay here again if I was visiting Vegas for a brief visit, but perhaps four days or more in Vegas at the bottom end of the Strip would get on your nerves with all the walking or getting public transport just to get to the main action.
