Although the hotel has great ammenities and is clean this is not the place for a traveler looking for a "vegas strip" hotel. The clientel is mostly older, not a lot of good gambling in the casino area. We were even told we were being too loud in an empty resturant to later find out that the manager was the one who complained, when in all reality we were sitting in the casino where there was music playing and slot machines dinging.
If you are looking for a place to laugh, drink, gamble and smoke , the Westin is not for you- so in all reality if you are looking to go to Vegas stay somewhere else!

At the heart of the Strip, but off the Strip - i.e., best of both worlds (unless you really want to be on the Strip - if you do, then don't bother reading this review). It's a relief to come back to this hotel after a foray into the mania on the Strip. I visited Vegas to visit the Strip, not be a victim of it - which you are if you stay at any of the hotels on the Strip (overpriced, overcrowded, overhyped). But this place is just 5 minutes walk from the Bellagio, so it couldn't be more convenient. I was bumped to this place due to a mistake by Hotels.com, so I was skeptical - but it won me over; I would definitely go back there if I had to go back to Vegas.
Everything here is adequate, but not posh by any stretch - not 4-star, more like 3.5 star. The room was very comfortable, with the famous Westin beds and towels, and the bathroom luxurious. Services were prompt and courteous. The pool is almost perfunctory - not at all fancy or whatever it is that people look for at a pool deck (I saw the Luxor pool deck, it looked like a cattle yard); the gym is adequate, but it's weird to have to walk through all the conference room hallways to get there. The casino also seemed like it was just an obligation - no style, no excitement to be seen. But there are dozens of huge casinos within walking distance, so if that's your thing, go there and stay at the Westin as a place to get a rest when you're done.
The only negative was that $10/day "service fee" - as someone else mentioned, if it's mandatory, it should be in the basic price per night.

My daughter and I stayed here one night en route from Calgary to Phoenix by road. Her dog was travelling with us and we chose the Westin as they are pet friendly. We arrived hot, tired and in need of comfort and rest. We had a wonderful stay here. From check in to check out staff were super friendly and helpful. ( They even ran a toy up to the room for the dog!) The hotel is a calm, cool oasis within easy walking distance of the strip and the noisy, crowded hotels that we normally stay at when visiting Vegas. The room was quiet and the beds fantastic. We used the pool and restaurant....both were great! We walked to some other casinos but enjoyed coming back here at the end of the evening. I will probably stay here next time I am in town. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is for people like me who enjoy visiting the huge and packed strip hotel/casinos but at the end of the day wants to come back to the tranquility of my hotel, which is only one block from the strip, on the corner at Bally's and Flamingo.

Well, when I say tranquility, please bear in mind this is still Vegas, so the inevitable slot machines will be there for you. But even so, the lobby was really nicely decorated and even formal.

The room was extremely spacious, to a point of being sparsely furnished. But really, no complains here.

Parking was easy and free, but wi-fi was abusely priced at $15 a day or so. I made sure to use it somewhere else. I hope hotels realize soon that free wi-fi should be a standard service for a 4 or 5 star hotel. Stop nickel and diming...

There's a pool which I'd qualify as poor by Vegas standards, but ok if it was in another city. Nothing special, really, they could've done better.

I'd recommend the hotel if you don't make a focal point of your visit to stay in one of the mega resorts.

Front desk staff..RUDE...Bartenders...RUDE.....Dealers......RUDE. They close the Roulette and Craps tables from 1am to 5pm which is a huge bummer. The pool is awful and the 10 dollar a day extra service fee is bs.
