I spent 3 nights at Harrahs on a gambling trip with a friend. In my opinion, you get what you pay for. For 2 guys who were at the tables at least 8 hrs. a day spending an average of $75 per night (50 weeknights 120 weekend night), Harrahs was OK. If I were traveling with my wife, I would spend the extra $ and stay at the Wynn, Bellagio or the 4 Seasons. The location was good, the service was good (especially being able to check in at the airport) and the dealers were friendly. The food however, was definitely lacking. The buffet had long lines for "cafeteria" food. The new Italian restaurant seemed to have recently opened and was decorated nicely. However, the food and the service were compairable to a really bad chain restaurant with inflated pricing (4 beers, 2 apps, 2 entrees = 125.00 + tip). If you want a "decent" bottle of wine and don't want to drop a C note bring your own. If $ doesn't matter, they have a few nice reds on the list like current vintage Solaia for 400. The best dinning value I found was the breakfast buffet at the Bellagio for $15 (be there by 10:00 or wait in line). Bottom line!! If your going with some friends and want to gamble, save the $ and stay at Harrahs. If your going for a trip with someone special, stay at one of the above mentioned. Also, no matter where you stay remember to award good service with a little $. Remember, you get what you pay for!!
