I spent 3 nights at Harrahs on a gambling trip with a friend. In my opinion, you get what you pay for. For 2 guys who were at the tables at least 8 hrs. a day spending an average of $75 per night (50 weeknights 120 weekend night), Harrahs was OK. If I were traveling with my wife, I would spend the extra $ and stay at the Wynn, Bellagio or the 4 Seasons. The location was good, the service was good (especially being able to check in at the airport) and the dealers were friendly. The food however, was definitely lacking. The buffet had long lines for "cafeteria" food. The new Italian restaurant seemed to have recently opened and was decorated nicely. However, the food and the service were compairable to a really bad chain restaurant with inflated pricing (4 beers, 2 apps, 2 entrees = 125.00 + tip). If you want a "decent" bottle of wine and don't want to drop a C note bring your own. If $ doesn't matter, they have a few nice reds on the list like current vintage Solaia for 400. The best dinning value I found was the breakfast buffet at the Bellagio for $15 (be there by 10:00 or wait in line). Bottom line!! If your going with some friends and want to gamble, save the $ and stay at Harrahs. If your going for a trip with someone special, stay at one of the above mentioned. Also, no matter where you stay remember to award good service with a little $. Remember, you get what you pay for!!

If I see one more person who says that a hotel in Las Vegas is to gambling oriented im going to cry. Im not sure if they realized what Las Vegas is! Ive stayed at Harrahs numerous times and found every experience enjoyable. If you have to wait in line even five minutes to check in someone was there handing you water bottles. The comps are fabulous I havent paid for a room since the first time I stayed and I basically stick to penny slots. The bufft is by far the best food ever. For a picky big city girl I find the decor and fun atmosphere of Harrahs just right. I dont know what you people are doing in Vegas if you spend that much time in your room anyway.

This, and the Flamingo (also a Harrah's property), is like a high rise sleazy cheap motel.
Even if your room is comped, you will still come away from this place feeling cheated.
The rooms are old, tired, dirty and stink of smoke, even in supposedly non smoking rooms.
Management doesn't give a toss if you complain about dirty towels, sheets or filthy bathroom. Beds are old and lumpy, and the pillows are flat and look generally unsanitary.
This is the kind of place where you worry about things like bed bugs!! Ugh.

So disappointed! This was our 1st trip to Vegas & Harrah's was soooo disappointing. The room was non- smoking--- but it was so stale, the towels, the sheets, all smelled from smoke. We were in the Mardi Gras Tower & we over looked a roof & air conditioning units. And the room was so small!!!The closet space was inefficient & the hangers did not fit on the rods. We will not stay at Harrah's on our next trip to Vegas.

We stayed at Harrahs for the weekend of June 2-4. Our room was very nice and clean, no complaints - except for the view, but oh well, we weren't in our room that much anyway. I do not recommend the buffet, very yucky! We ate breakfast at the Cafe one morning, and that was good, but pricey for breakfast, oh well, your in Vegas. I highly recommend the entertainment with the dualing pianos, saw some funny singing men that took requests all night. They were great. I also HIGHLY recommend the Improv - we saw funny man BOB MARLEY (the comedian, not the dead singer) and he was WONDERFUL - he will be back to do more shows in September.......so funny!

The pool area was small for the size of the hotel, and the little cups of frozen drinks were $8 each, but they were good, and met some funny guys in the pool that were there for a bachelor party.

All in all, we had a great time, and yes there are better places to stay on the strip, but Harrahs was just fine and we would stay here again.....just so we could go see BOB MARLEY.....hahah he still makes me laugh!!
