I booked a classic room, but upon arriving I decided to pay $15 more a night for a newly remodeled room in the Mardi Gras tower, after my $20 sandwich trick failed to score me a free upgrade.
The room was nice, and it included an LCD tv. The bed was really nice, and they provided plenty of pillows, and a duvet, I believe. The view was kinda stank, but none of the Harrah's rooms offer a really good view of the Strip.
The bathroom was also nice. Granite counter, nice tiles, a nice big mirror and a shower that provided plenty of pressure and hot water.
But, my stay was ruined upon checking out. I left a cash deposit, so I had to visit the front desk before checking out. I was informed that I owed $60 in long distance charges. I asked how this could be, as I only used the phone 4 times, for a total of 10 to 12 minutes. The clerk told me there was a $11 fee just for connecting. WTF? How do they justify this? They can't! They only charge the ridiculous fee to fleece unsuspecting guests. Very greasy!
