This was our first stay at Harrah's and we were traveling with first timers to Vegas. I had read the reviews on the problems at check-in so I was more than a bit antsy. We (the wives) waited in line for about 25 minutes. I could see some unhappy people at the counter (I over heard one person and they had a reservation thru travelocity and it wasn't showing up in the Harrah's system). Once my friend and I arrived at the desk, the clerk took both our reservations (we booked separately) and we asked to be in the same tower but I knew we had paid for a newer room. She was able to put us both in the Carnival Tower (I think we were to be in the Mardi Gras with the newer flat screen tv's. . . whatever, I didn't come to Vegas to watch tv). Our room was on the 16th floor, very comfy bed, and a view of the volcano at Mirage. My husband and I were happy with our room. Our friend were happy with their room as well.

Overall, we thought Harrah's was easier to get around than our previous trips to the Flamingo. We were also happy with both the buffet and their cafe.

My husband and I stayed at Harrah's from May 4th- 9th..Upon checking in @ 11:30 a.m. our room was ready, we had a room on the 15 floor in the Mardi Gras tower..rooms were nice, nothing to complain or rave about...but when in Vegas..no need for a big fancy room. I was not impressed with the Casino. the layout did not make me want to gamble there..We liked the casinos on Freemont Street..much more variety, and the waitresses were always around!! Harrah's is right in the middle of everything, we went to the Revolution club at the Mirage..so wearing my heels wasn't a big deal because of the short walk. The pool was ok, smaller than alot of other Vegas pools, but we were able to find two pool chairs..and were out there till the closing time of 6..drinks were 10 bucks a piece for a daquiri, which I guess is reasonable..overall we are staying again in the end of August so I guess they got us to come back.. ( no problems with smoke in the room and we are non-smokers..

My stay at Harrah's was from June 18-22. Once we arrived, I expected to at least be greeted kindly, but instead, I was greeted by a very grumpy woman who only appeared to be anxious to clock out. We were offered to pay $10 more for a room with a view, to which we agreed to do. Needless to say, once we walked in the room, it was old, it smelled bad, and the view was overlooking the air conditioners. I called the front desk to be moved to a renovated room, which she agreed to move us, however, since it was still an "upgrade", we still needed to pay $46. My girlfriend checked in that same evening and was given the same room for no extra charge. The staff insisted that it was still an upgrade and the charges needed to apply. No one was flexible to give me a reasonable explanation on the charges. I can tell you that this was the last time I will step foot in that hotel.

They say the first person you meet sets the tone for the remainder of your stay and I never knew how true that is. I recently checked in at Harrah's while on a get-away trip with friends. When I got to the desk the girl was the most rude person I've experienced in a long while. McDonald's drive-thru staff have better customer service skills. I looked at the other checking in guests and they all seemed to be equally as miserable but the one I had won the prize. Since she couldn't handle the check in, 'Alame' didn't get anything right with the rooms. During the process with her perceived problems she went to a supervisor for assistance who seemed to just as unhappy with his job as she was. So, the check-in was terrible, the rooms were not right, and the rudeness of this person set the tone for the rest of my stay.

Just got back from my first trip to Vegas. Birthday gift from my husband. Harrah's Las Vegas is a great hotel to stay in. check in was very quick and easy. Our room was average, but then again, if we slept for 12 hours in 4 days it was alot. I can't say anything bad about the hotel. It was clean, everyone was friendly, and the beds were OHHHH so comfortable (especially for those tired legs and feet). I would stay here again, because of it's location on the strip. It has a monorail stop right in the hotel, and you are close enough to all the action within walking distance on the strip. I loved it here. I did not find it smokey at all (and I do not smoke). The service in the casino was quick. I would recommend.
