They say the first person you meet sets the tone for the remainder of your stay and I never knew how true that is. I recently checked in at Harrah's while on a get-away trip with friends. When I got to the desk the girl was the most rude person I've experienced in a long while. McDonald's drive-thru staff have better customer service skills. I looked at the other checking in guests and they all seemed to be equally as miserable but the one I had won the prize. Since she couldn't handle the check in, 'Alame' didn't get anything right with the rooms. During the process with her perceived problems she went to a supervisor for assistance who seemed to just as unhappy with his job as she was. So, the check-in was terrible, the rooms were not right, and the rudeness of this person set the tone for the rest of my stay.

Just got back from my first trip to Vegas. Birthday gift from my husband. Harrah's Las Vegas is a great hotel to stay in. check in was very quick and easy. Our room was average, but then again, if we slept for 12 hours in 4 days it was alot. I can't say anything bad about the hotel. It was clean, everyone was friendly, and the beds were OHHHH so comfortable (especially for those tired legs and feet). I would stay here again, because of it's location on the strip. It has a monorail stop right in the hotel, and you are close enough to all the action within walking distance on the strip. I loved it here. I did not find it smokey at all (and I do not smoke). The service in the casino was quick. I would recommend.

This was my first trip to Vegas and my in-laws whom we traveled with love Harah's so that is where we stayed. The price was definitely reasonable, the room was clean and the pool was basic but totally satisfying. However I did have issues trying to get clean towels delivered to the room. I did tell management and they credited our room a small amount for our inconvenience. I thought the pillows were nice but the bed seemed a little hard for my tastes. If I were to go back to Vegas, I would definitely pay a little more and stay at the Venetian, Wynn or Mirage. The casino was ok but not as nice as some of the other hotels. I was upset that in order to use the fitness center, you had to pay a daily fee. As much as we were spending eating there and in the casino (not to mention paying for the room itself), this seems like a no-brainer in order to not annoy your guests. The hotel was in a great location in the center of the many other casinos which was nice.

Harrah's is good enough because you'll be so drunk you won't care that it's only a three star hotel! The rooms are clean and you might get a room with a view if you ask, but who cares, it's Las Vegas! Go have a drink at a Blackjack tables and forget about your issues with the hotel.
Do eat at the Penazzi restaurant rather than "Flavors".

Harrah's offers a reasonably priced hotel for such a great location. It is across the street from Mirage & Caesar's Palace.

We upgraded to a room in the Mardi Gras Tower from the Carnival Tower after finding our original room smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. We were told all the rooms in the Mardi Gras Tower have been recently refurbished/updated. If the view from your window is important to you, stay away from Room #506 and other even #'s rooms around it and the floors below it as it faces the heating/air conditioning units. The room was well appointed & spacious. We could not hear hallway noise but we could hear our neighbors very well through the connecting suite door. If you like your room kept cool, keep the air conditioning set at the lowest temperature. We think the a/c might be motion activated since we found it became cooler the longer we were back in the room as if it wasn't on all day long. We pulled the curtains closed to try to keep the room cool but the maid service pulled them wide open every day after cleaning the room. The ammenities bar is set up with some kind of monitoring system that will charge you for just removing the item from its spot so if you do not want what you see, don't even move it! Bathroom was spacious and clean. Towels very clean. Shower pressure not so good but adequate. Flat panel television in the bathroom was a nice touch. Bed was very comfortable and sheets & blanket were very clean.

Onto the casino. Unfortunately, NOTHING influenced me to gamble here. The casino is very dingy & outdated. I was surprised that Harrah's has let it go so much since it also owns so many upscale casinos on the strip. The slots are boring & the tables mundane. I'm not sure what the theme of this hotel is as it's trying to be many things for many people at the same time. I would suggest they hire someone to clean the glass doors of the main entrance every 30 minutes as they are full of greasy handprints all the time. Nothing is inviting to the outside passerby to stop by & gamble.

Skip the restaurants especially the cheap steak & eggs late night dinner. Go to Denny's for breakfast a few steps down the street. You'll save a ton of $$.

I'm predicting that this casino will be the next one to be imploded because the cost to update & refurbish it will be more than to just start over. If I had to stay here again, I probably would for the reasonable cost, the location & clean/comfortable rooms.

Hope you enjoy your stay!

  • Liked — Location, spaciousness of room & bathroom, cost
  • Disliked — Dingy casino, lack of ammenities, pool too small
