I stayed at Harrah's Vegas for a convention in April. I was at the hotel for 5 days. The hotel was just fine, nothing too exciting room wise. The check in people were hit or miss. The woman I got checked me right in and upgraded my room for no reason which was nice, but my co-worker got the shaft. He was told his room wasnt ready yet and he would have to wait. Luckily he wondered over to where I was checking in, about two stations away and when he told me he had to wait, my check in person asked for his info. She ended up checking him in right then. I dont know what the issue was with the first person. Other than that, we had no issues with the hotel, everything was just fine.
The casino is just ok too. Really expensive drinks if you are not gambling, but its hard to want to sit at an empty table with $20 min for a "free" drink. I spent most of my gambling time at the casino's next door. I tried to watch a Red Sox game at the Sports Book, but the chairs are so uncomfortable you don't want to hang around. Of course the most comfortable seats are at the bar but you have to be playing video poker to sit....meh...
I ate at the buffet the first day. Good selection and fine food. Nothing outstanding. It was Sunday when I arrived so the price was pushed up to $20 each opposed to the normal $16 because it was "Brunch". The deli (hidden between the Sports Book and the Poker Room) was the best food I had in the hotel and it was cheap too. One thing to note, the hotel as a deal with Pepsi, so if you need a Coke product you need to go to McDonald's next door.
Overall nothing bad, nothing great. I'd stay there again if I had too.
