I stayed at Harrah's Vegas for a convention in April. I was at the hotel for 5 days. The hotel was just fine, nothing too exciting room wise. The check in people were hit or miss. The woman I got checked me right in and upgraded my room for no reason which was nice, but my co-worker got the shaft. He was told his room wasnt ready yet and he would have to wait. Luckily he wondered over to where I was checking in, about two stations away and when he told me he had to wait, my check in person asked for his info. She ended up checking him in right then. I dont know what the issue was with the first person. Other than that, we had no issues with the hotel, everything was just fine.

The casino is just ok too. Really expensive drinks if you are not gambling, but its hard to want to sit at an empty table with $20 min for a "free" drink. I spent most of my gambling time at the casino's next door. I tried to watch a Red Sox game at the Sports Book, but the chairs are so uncomfortable you don't want to hang around. Of course the most comfortable seats are at the bar but you have to be playing video poker to sit....meh...

I ate at the buffet the first day. Good selection and fine food. Nothing outstanding. It was Sunday when I arrived so the price was pushed up to $20 each opposed to the normal $16 because it was "Brunch". The deli (hidden between the Sports Book and the Poker Room) was the best food I had in the hotel and it was cheap too. One thing to note, the hotel as a deal with Pepsi, so if you need a Coke product you need to go to McDonald's next door.

Overall nothing bad, nothing great. I'd stay there again if I had too.

“Does the job”

Harrah's Las Vegas Casino & Hotel

Stayed at Harrah's with the family for Thanksgiving...by the way, Thanksgiving is a surprisingly crowded time to visit Vegas. I've been to Vegas 4 times, this was my first at Harrah's. I definitely was not impressed. Not my decor style...sorta '80's-looking carnival figures with other random art. The hotel didn't seem to have a cohesive design.

My guest room looked out on to the top of another roof...not attractive. In fact, my in-laws' room looked out on to another roof, which had a dead bird lying on it. Lovely.

Casino was small, relatively low ceilings.

The breakfast place was decent.

The Toby Keith bar was kinda cool. Seemed to be out of place at Harrah's.

Location is definitely awesome, right across from Ceasar's Palace.

I enjoyed TI: Treasure Island much much much more. It's worth the farther walk. Beautiful fun hotel!

Stayed at Harrah's for 9 nights (April 9 - 18) for a trade show. I loved the central location...could easily walk to Caesar's, Bellagio, Venetian, Flamingo, etc. It's also right on the monorail which is great for convention-goers. I was in a standard, mountain-view room on the 21st floor of the Carnaval tower. It was a pretty small room with two queen beds. The bathroom was large but had a lot of wasted space that could have been used for a second sink or a larger bathtub. (I understand the renovated rooms have better bathrooms.) The bed was a bit lumpy but didn't give me any back problems. The room was kept clean but was dated.

Service at the front desk and the information desk was quite good and very helpful. Porter service was good too.

The buffet is a great value for breakfast...generally when I had breakfast there I found I could skip lunch. Avoid the Cafe if you're traveling alone. Both times I ate there as a single I got horrible service while the larger tables got much more attention...not sure what the deal is with that. Toby Keith's Bar & Grill was fun...huuuuge portions and drinks but very, very noisy (even by Vegas standards).

As this is one of the older properties on the Strip it doesn't have much in the way of shopping...it's sort of an afterthought. And the whole place feels very dated and worn.

If you're not looking for fancy accommodations but you want to be in a central Strip location, Harrah's is a good choice. If you're looking for the lap of luxury, go somewhere else.

My husband & I along with six other couples went to las vegas & stayed at Harrahs for the first time. This was our fourth trip to vegasWe all were very pleased with our room, the service, and most of all -the location. We were able to walk to many places including Caesars palace, the forum shops inside caesars, the fashion show mall, and many of the other casinos.
Next door is Casino Royale-not a very nice or pretty casino but if you are looking for cheap beers, then this is the place. $1 michelob drafts & $1.50 bottled beer.

I just returned today from a 5 night stay at Harrahs. I arrived Sunday 4/6/2008 and departed 4/11/2008. I arrived early between 11 and 12 noon and my room with a King sized bed in the Mardi Gras tower was not ready.( check in time was actually 4 pm). I was assigned a standard room in the Carnival tower on the 22th floor, which had a safe and a nice view of the mountains. The room was clean and had comfortable beds. I called room service three times while I was at the hotel and it was excellent. The Flavor buffet is wonderful for breakfast, I ate there once but did not eat any other meal there. The Cafe is open late and I had a philly cheese steak and potato salad at 3:30 am, it was excellent. I had problems trying to figure out how to set the alarm clock so I called housekeeping. A person came with a new clock with instructions and went over it with me. The only complaint I had was that I could hear the two ladies in the room next to me talking when they came back to the room and also in the morning when I woke up, I guess the rooms are not well insulated. I was lucky I was not next to a room with loud party goers. I will consider staying at the hotel again, but I will request an upgrade when I make my reservations and ask for a room that is quiet. I had a hot deal internet special of 4 nights for $69 and the 5th night $105. Over all it was a great deal for the money.
