We have just returned from 4 days at Harrahs and loved it! We got there Friday evening and had to wait about 15 min to check in, but not
too bad. They org. put us in the Mardi Gras Tower which had a view of the pool and partial of the Strip and I thought the other Tower would have a better view so we asked to be moved the next day to the other tower, which they did no problem. We ended up liking the Mardi Gras Tower better and asked to be moved BACK over (again they did NO problem). Mardi Gras was newer rooms, more comfortable beds, a little
smaller rooms though which we didnt care, flat screen TV in the bedroom and another TV in the bathroom and a little mini balcony, which we LOVED opening our sliding glass door and standing outside and
letting the cool air blow in. The other tower is older, the rooms are bigger and the view was more of the mountains and it did have that OLD
feel and too much carpet fresh smell. When we checked in the desk person told us that Mardi Gras might be noisy cause we are overlooking
the pool and the bands play until 2 or 3am, but there was never a band
so this didnt bother us and we didnt even see construction anywhere, so that noise we didnt encounter either.
The champagne breakfast buffet @ Harrahs was only OK, nothing great. Wouldnt eat at this one again.
My husband and I walked around to all the other mega hotels and some smaller ones and it gets to a point where they pretty much are all the
same. Depends on the "theme" you want. We thought Harrahas had the friendliest dealers and came around with the drinks more. We loved that this hotel wasnt SO huge that it took you 20-30 min to walk to the Strip. We could easily go from my husbands favorite poker table up to our room or out to the Strip in mere minutes! O'Sheas next Harrahs was a little cheaper table games, but we played poker there for 2 hours one night and not ONE waitress came around, needless to say we didnt go back there. Caesars, much the same we played slots for an hour or 1.5 hours and only saw ONE waitress. We def., thought drinks were going to be more plentiful then having to hunt someone down or pay ourselves!!!
Food in general in Vegas is expensive, plan to spend a $100/day on food for 2 people and this was eating moderately and only twice a day.
Overall we loved Harrahs for the location and the price, and would DEF stay here again!!!
