Well, let me start off by saying--this was NOT the Venetian--BUT--this is a place to stay if you are traveling as a family. We took a trip to Vegas in October 2004 to get married--stayed at the Venetian. We decided to go back to Vegas March 2005 on vacation and took my 8 year old son so that he could see where we got married and stayed at the Luxor. The Venetian spoiled us on the first trip. The Luxor is a great place to stay as a family, however check-in was horrid!! Early check-in?? NO WAY!!! Wasn't allowed while we were there anyway. The staff wasn't very friendly--acted as if we were bothering them. We are firm believers in "you are treated as you treat others"--not so on this visit. Conceirge??? Not at the Luxor!! We couldn't get help with anything from the staff. The ONLY place at the Luxor where the staff were friendly was at the mexican restaurant on the second floor. This is of course is just my opinion--I know we did not come in contact with all of the staff at the Luxor--I am sure there are some really friendly people there--we just didn't come across any of them during our week vacation. On a good note. There was plenty of family activities that could be done at the Luxor. My son loved the arcade and 3-D movie rides. OH--he even enjoyed the King Tut Museum--which I thought he would find very boring at his age. I enjoyed the Pirates 4-D movie with him. The package deal that they offer for $24.95 is great!! You get to see three 3-D ride movies, the Pirate 4-D movie---and some other things that I can't remember right now--but well worth the money of the package. The rooms--kind of small--carpet needed cleaning--wallpaper was falling off the wall. Bathrooms were nice--I really liked the seperate shower and tub. The casino is hard to get through--very easy to get turned around. I never did get used to which way I needed to go. And for my last thought--THE BLUE MAN GROUP---AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I would pay $300 per ticket to see them again. My 8 year old and mother-in-law loved them as well. It is a show that all can enjoy--even without the ear plugs. We sat in the poncho section--a must!!! You really get to experience the whole show without missing a beat!! I don't know if I would go back to the Luxor again if we go as a family--might have to try Treasure Island or MGM next time we take my son along. COUPLES.......Venetian EVERYTIME!!!!
