My wife and I stayed at the Luxor in early January and loved it. From the time we walked in and looked at the architecture and the breathtaking pyramid we were hooked. We stayed at the rooms in the pyramid and thought they were very nice, just make sure you request a room above the 20th floor for better views. We were initially given a room on the 3rd floor, which had no view, so we decided to call the front desk to move to a higher room and they accommodated us immediately. We walked around to all the major hotels/casinos and found that the Luxor was not as overcrowded, loud and smoky as the others. The Pharoh's Feast buffet is definitely worth it, we tried it for breakfast and dinner and it was great. Check in/out was very quick considering the amount of rooms in the hotel. The Luxor is connected internally to the Mandalay Bay and the Excalibur. The only drawback is that it is a lengthy walk from the main part of the strip. But the taxis are not too expensive and there is a very affordable trolley that picks you up at the front of the hotel and stops at various spots throughout the strip, you can buy an all day pass and go back and forth all day.

All in all it was a great stay and we would definitely go back in the future, because you can always find a great deal at Luxor.

I did read a few reviews before going to the Luxor and felt abit apprehensive. But on arriving I thought it was "FANTASTIC".
Stayed in the Luxor for 7 nights, no complaints what so ever. We stayed in the tower and the rooms were great. Hotel overall was fantastic and clean with helpful friendly staff. Location for us was ideal as it was at the top and we walked through the most of the hotels to get to the bottom of the strip. It was very very hot in July 45 degrees C, but the big fans and water sprinklers are a great relief on the streets. We gambled quite abit and I must say the best tasting wine on the strip was at the Bellagio without a doubt. Meals in the Luxor fantastic and enormous with plenty of choice. Pools great although they did run out of towels one day, but I think they were on a water ration. Still, we are going back soon and have decided we would definately stay in the Luxor again.

Judging from the previous reviews, one needs to do their homework before booking a hotel. We didn't and since somewhere along the line, our reservation was not entered with the Luxor properly, albeit that our printed confirmation was correct, we were given the option of rooms. My husband chose the tower since it had a shower and a tub....good choice! The room was very nice but the room temperature seemed a little sporadic, but not unbearable. Simple directions by the staff to elevators, etc, were hard to come by for many people. Over all, we enjoyed the hotel and enjoyed the walk to other hotels. The tram from the strip is not real convenient, but, hey, that's Vegas, baby! Given the choice, we would book Luxor tower again.

Stayed in the pyramid part of the hotel--valet parking very expedient, luggage made it to and from room effieciently, room service quick with additional pillows and towels, CLEAN ROOM, room decor nice. Bathroom nice but showers only,no tub.
Beds were uncomfortable and pillows were horrible! Could smell cigarette smoke, not from the room, but filtered from the outside of the room I think. No noise from neighbors[in room in the pyramid].
Nice arcade for kids, Chuck E Cheese like games to win tickets for prizes and cool mini bowling lanes (adults were enjoying this too)
Great for adults gambling and partying-if you don't spend much time in room during night--when the smoke odor was strong and sleeping on those pillows was a nightmare!
