I reserved a room for a co-worker and myself. The internet showed beautiful rooms with a luxury look. Also people have said that this hotel is nice. I must say they are wrong, the hotel is nice from the outside but could use some updating on the inside. When we checked into our room, we were disappointed because it did not look anything like the internet. We complained about how uncomfortable the beds were and they moved us to the tower rooms. I am sad to say the tower rooms were not any better, the bed was still uncomfortable, but I did not want to keep complaining. The room did look a little more updated from the previous room. The Luxor has great rates, but you get what you pay for. I would advise anyone to stay at the neighboring hotel Mandalay Bay which is really nice.

The reviews i read on the Luxor weren't very good so I was surprised at how great of a stay we had. First let me say that we were slightly jet lagged and our first morning we were awoken at 730 am by some guys working a floor up replacing a window. We went down to talk to the manager and they said it would be that way all week so they kindly upgraded us to a different room. We were on the 21st floor of the east tower and we were moved to the 10th floor of the west tower, much nicer digs let me tell ya! They were very nice about the situation and it was taken care of quickly. The pay outs on the slot machines seemed to be better here than anywhere else we visited. We spent about $100.00 at 5 different hotels and the Luxor was the ONLY ONE that paid out. The Flamingo was the WORST (but the old time ambience sorta made up for it!lol). The buffet (More) wasnt all that great and it was expensive, they had the same things everyday. The pool was great, the drinks at the pool were yummy but pretty steep in price. One pina colada was $11 and a bucket of 6 bud light was 30. Join the players club as soon as you get there, after 200 points (which add up quick) you atleast get a free luxor tshirt!lol and you can talk them into a couple free meals at the buffet too.

You think that staying in a pyramid is kinda unique? riding on those inclinators is a different experience? Don't get me wrong, I know how bad this hotel was even before I booked it due to the reviews but it's even worst than what I expected. Nothing special about the rooms and inclinators at all! The service was immature, and the staff are bunch of untrained people. I reserved a king bed room through vegas.com and they gave me 2 doubles because they said they don't have bedding contract with vegas.com which is acceptable, but isn't it the desk clerk's job to confirm guest's preference upon check-in?. Had to go back to the reception and bear with the so-called inclinators that doesn't feel different or unique at all, it's just like you're on an old elevator that needs serious maintenance, the whole theme of the hotel is just pathetic. So the manager transferred us to a dirty king bed room, with stained towels in the bathroom. My boyfriend was shocked when he saw a huge worn man's underware underneath the couch when I tried to move it coz I wanted to get a better view from the window. To top it all, the manager compensated us with free buffet, which is another disgusting experience. We are certainly not expecting a bellagio/venetian-like experience but this hotel doesn't even come close to decent! The room seemed like someone got murdered there and they tried to scrub and cover all the blood stains off but they didn't completely succeed. The Casino is far too dark and smoky and the slots just eats all your money up in a second! Staying in this hotel is just unbelievably depressing. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Bad people, Bad food, Bad room. DON"T RUIN YOUR VACATION by staying at the LUXOR!

Good: The views from the balcony are terrrific and the views outside and the landscaping.

Not acceptable: Inside the hotel is run down, the room shabby and below average in cleanliness. Long lines to check in and out. The parking garage is outside with uneven pavement and since it rained we had to walk through a deep puddle of water and drag our suitcases through it.
We could request a nonsmoking room until we arrived at check-in. Our non-smoking room smelled like cigarette smoke.

Check in was long but the eye candy kept us four gents entertained. Room was clean and in acceptable order. The T & T restaurant was gross. If you go, eat the complimentary chips and dip, then order a few Coronas they were ice cold!
The casino was fine as well as the shops. No real complaints about this place except it was quite the hike to get to our room (23rd floor). We were confused as to why it took so long to get to our room, maybe we took the wrong elevator or maybe it was too many Fat Tuesdays. Staff was helpful.
This was the perfect hotel for a first time Vegas visitor at the this price!
