You think that staying in a pyramid is kinda unique? riding on those inclinators is a different experience? Don't get me wrong, I know how bad this hotel was even before I booked it due to the reviews but it's even worst than what I expected. Nothing special about the rooms and inclinators at all! The service was immature, and the staff are bunch of untrained people. I reserved a king bed room through vegas.com and they gave me 2 doubles because they said they don't have bedding contract with vegas.com which is acceptable, but isn't it the desk clerk's job to confirm guest's preference upon check-in?. Had to go back to the reception and bear with the so-called inclinators that doesn't feel different or unique at all, it's just like you're on an old elevator that needs serious maintenance, the whole theme of the hotel is just pathetic. So the manager transferred us to a dirty king bed room, with stained towels in the bathroom. My boyfriend was shocked when he saw a huge worn man's underware underneath the couch when I tried to move it coz I wanted to get a better view from the window. To top it all, the manager compensated us with free buffet, which is another disgusting experience. We are certainly not expecting a bellagio/venetian-like experience but this hotel doesn't even come close to decent! The room seemed like someone got murdered there and they tried to scrub and cover all the blood stains off but they didn't completely succeed. The Casino is far too dark and smoky and the slots just eats all your money up in a second! Staying in this hotel is just unbelievably depressing. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Bad people, Bad food, Bad room. DON"T RUIN YOUR VACATION by staying at the LUXOR!

Good: The views from the balcony are terrrific and the views outside and the landscaping.

Not acceptable: Inside the hotel is run down, the room shabby and below average in cleanliness. Long lines to check in and out. The parking garage is outside with uneven pavement and since it rained we had to walk through a deep puddle of water and drag our suitcases through it.
We could request a nonsmoking room until we arrived at check-in. Our non-smoking room smelled like cigarette smoke.

Check in was long but the eye candy kept us four gents entertained. Room was clean and in acceptable order. The T & T restaurant was gross. If you go, eat the complimentary chips and dip, then order a few Coronas they were ice cold!
The casino was fine as well as the shops. No real complaints about this place except it was quite the hike to get to our room (23rd floor). We were confused as to why it took so long to get to our room, maybe we took the wrong elevator or maybe it was too many Fat Tuesdays. Staff was helpful.
This was the perfect hotel for a first time Vegas visitor at the this price!

Glad I did not read the previous reviews befor we went. Relied on our travel agaent for America, who has never put us anywhere awful. The worst thing about our stay was the flight over on what must have been Virgins oldest and most decrepit airplane. It was so bad that we shelled out to upgrade on the flight home in case it was the same plane!
The wait for check in at the Luxor was long and remained so all the time we were ther. we were offered an upgrade at $10 per night, which we took and the room was entirely satisfactory. Only thing we didn't like that the black film on the windows, to make the pyramid look dark, also made the room interior gloomy. The inside of the Luxor has little to do with Egypt! Bit disappointing after having stayed at the NY NY before, which was fabulous. However, it was good enough for a bed for the night, the rest of the time we were doing the strip. It was incredibly busy but not unexpected. Most of the hotels are worth a look inside for the sheer OTT of it all. Have lunch at the Italian in the Venetian - it's good. difficult to find a decent low cost meal. Lots of horrid food halls but the only restaurants are in Hotels and work out pricey - they get you on the drinks. Tired on the 1st night, my son ordered a beer without naming one and ended up with one that cost $15! If you like the Beatles do go and see Love, it's brilliant. You can book direct with the Mirage on line and they are offering money off tickets right now. It was worth it.. When you get tired of walking the strip, the monorail is a good option, though hard to find because the floor space in these hotels is so vast and they want you to walk the whole area before you find the monorail! If you want to get free drinks, sit and play the slots. You can be playing 1 cents but they will still bring you free drinks. I lost $5 but |I got 3 margaritas! Vetgas is mad but fun. i had had enough by the 5th day and was glad to come home - we walked miles and were exhausted but it was worth it. The Luxor was middle of the road but perfectly OK from our point of view.

Stopped at the Luxor in June for several days and enjoyed it.
Check in was quick and easy, they originally put us on the 24th floor but we don't like lift so they changed us to the 2nd floor which was ahuge help.
Mind you, we had to walk up some dirty fire escape stairs to get toour room but to be honest we didn't mind.

The room was dark but the windows are tinted and curtains stay closed as it's so hot, room was clean and bathroom was nice.

The hotel is huge, loads of places to eat, drink and gamble, pool was nice if a little over crowded, the pool was also very shallow, not really a swimming pool, more a dipping to cool off pool.

Everything was well run as usual and I've no complaints about the hotel.

However, if was to go back to Las Vegas I'd probably stop nearer the middle of the strip, the reason being the Luxor is at one end and it takes a while to get about as it's so busy.
Next tiem I'd stay more central on the strip in say Caesers Palace, Bellagio or the Mirage.
