My Wife and I stayed at the Luxor for 3 nights starting July20th, I had changed the booking from a Pyramid Room to a Tower Suite after so many bad reports, Check in was a long queue but it only took half an Hour to get through and the Reception Staff were very polite and helpfull. The Suite was awesome, yes a little dark but this was a pleasure after being out in the bright sunlight, and it was not really that dim in the room if the truth be told. The Suite was huge compared to Hotel rooms in the UK. it was in very good condition, clean and well presented. The dailycleaners did an excellant job. we were not to impressed with the buffet ( paper napkin job)haveing tried it once so went over the bridge to the Mandalay Bay excellant menu's (linen napkins). The Luxor may be at the bottom end of the strip but not so far as not to be able to walk to most places, The "Duce Bus" is excellant value for money ,so long as you can get on one, also have the right change. Timeshare Agents were not a problem not pushy and very polite, "Hookers" we never saw any but then I would not know what to lookout for anyway!!!!!!!!!! on the whole I would recommend the Towers at the Luxor as an excellant Hotel to stay at on the strip and if i was visiting Vegas again I would not hesitate to stay here again.

There is no doubt that the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas is not the best hotel in the world, but most of the criticism is totally unjustified.

If you go away on holiday then no matter where you stay you can find something to complain about. However if you are sad enough to let the Luxor Hotel ruin your time in Vegas the there is something wrong with you.

We stayed in a Pyramid Room from 9-12 August 2008 and can not report any bad smells, poor cleanliness, phone surcharges, poor service, long queues at check in/out, etc.

Arrived at around 3.00 pm and greeted with a long check in queue that took us less than 15 minutes to get through. Walked through the casino to get to the room, stuck $5 in a slot machine and won $100. Went on to the room to find in clean, comfortable and free from any unpleasant smells.

Yes the hotel is massive and takes a while to get used to, and yes there are areas that need upgrading, but if you let a bit of peeling wallpaper, flaking paint or loose tile ruin your holiday then something is wrong with you not the hotel.

All in all you get what you pay for. A decent room at a decent price!

I visited the Luxor in April, and after reading reviews before i went i was thinking that it wouldn't be the best hotel and wasn't really looking forward to my visit. However while it was dark, and the rooms were dark etc it was not half as bad as some reviews would suggest.

We were on the 15th floor, and while it could be a little frustrating waiting for the lifts at times (even though there were 4) we could not hear any noise from our room like many of the reviews had described. The room was very Large with 2 queen size beds and a good size bathroom with a hugh shower, but with no bath. The pool at the hotel was lovley and you could rent comfy beds, or even tents they started of at $20 during the week (for a day) but it was worth it for the water and location of beds! And i must just mention the amazing window cleaner that cleans the pyrimid! madness and if you stay in the pyrimid be careful as it can give you a right shock when it goes past your window!

Be prepared to walk in vegas.......even if you catch the bus it can seem like such a long walk to the bus stop..........hotels are soooooooo large you can walk for miles! but i loved exploring the shops along the strip and looking in all the hotels.

The resturants at the Hotel i didn't think were that great, they had a food court with starbucks and mcdondles and Nathans which unfortunally we ate quite alot as it was cheap and didn't want o pay like $20 to get a buffe and just eat 1 plate full! So if you can get out and search for other resturants, and if you can visit the pepperMill near circus cirus, real american dinner, but is cheap and great food....and fab service 2!

Unless you want to go on the Rides of the Strat tower i wouldn't recomend goingup there as i didn't think it was worth the bus ride as it took ages..........and we did nothing when we got there, and its a bit out of the way. While i was in Vegas i did the Gran Canyon by helicopter, and apart from being delayed for a hour while the changed a part on our helecopter it was fab......one of the best trip's i have done.

On this occasion i came to Vegas for 2 weeks, many people told me this would be too long, for my first time i didn't think it was, and there is plenty to see and do, plus its hot so you can relax by the pool too. But if i was to go back i think i would do a twin center and stay in Vegas for 1 week .

“Luxor fantastic-rooms NOT!”

Luxor Las Vegas

Aug 22, 2008

When I booked the Vegas trip I wanted to stay on the strip in a cool hotel.
Found a great offer on a spasuite in the pyramide.
The suite looked amazing in pics with a spa in the bedroom just by the windows...

we used the valetparking- great service!
very easy to use ,cant imagine myself trying to find a empty parkinglot in the huge garagebuilding and find my way out again, lol

Luxor is a cool and impressive hotel !!
the design is amazing and the lobby/casino/restuarant area HUGE.
I really needed a map to find my way to the room.

spasuites are located in the pyramide corners so it was very close to the recliners.
Must say I was little disapointed when I saw our room.
It wasnt like the room in the pics.
the room felt old , dark and little shabby.
The room was just OK ,but I had higher expectations
Sure the spa was nice and the wiew great .
A/C worked fine (very hot outside!)
there was a refrigerator but it took a long time before it got cold
(used ice in the sink instead)

I can recommend Fusia restaurant, they had amazing good food and nice service.

quick check out service was nice too and worked well.
just dropped of the keys in a mailbox (its possible if you pay the room with creditcard )

Luxor is a fantastic hotel but the rooms is just plain OK
